Yanked my Tragus piercing!

4 months into my Tragus piercing and tonight some hair accidentally got caught round it and I really yanked it washing my hair.

Ouch.

I’m feeling sorry for myself - none of my friends have piercings like this (I’m 51) so no-one gets it!

It doesn’t seem to be bleeding; just red and throbbing.

Wanted to have a quiet moan to other fellow piercing folk about how idiotic I’ve been!

You poor thing! My tragus took ages to heal (possibly something to do with being a biker and wearing a helmet every day 😆).

In the spirit of misery loves company... When I was about 6 months pregnant, I stood up quickly a bit too close to the dining table and nearly ripped out my navel piercing 😳 It took me 13 years to pluck up the courage to put a belly bar back in.

I've had my tragus a very long time (getting on for 30 years!) but I feel your pain!
Any knock I used to sustain would result in a little pussy blob forming, a pop of said blob then relief. Pre empt it with a salt water wash.
Mine took 9-12 months to fully heal and been grand ever since.
I'm almost 50 and considering a conch piercing, not sure I've the tolerance these days to deal with the healing process!

Aaaach, you made me think of that time my 33-year-old self forgot about my very new (as in 5 days old or so) double studs in my nostril. I vigorously towel dried my face and yanked both of them out. The pain! The blood! I had to go and have them reinserted by a professional, no less.

So yeah, I'm handing you a virtual ice pack, and I am commiserating!

Autumnleavesarebrown · 21/03/2024 08:15

@RunnyPaint oh my goodness! I do wear a riding hat but the straps don’t touch it luckily.

@JaneIves @AKingdomForACarrotstick ouch!!
Oh crikey. I’m not alone.
Good to hear they heal eventually.

Sympathies @Autumnleavesarebrown last week I was on a long haul flight and got a free upgrade. It was my first business class experience and I was determined to make the most of it....but I ended up falling asleep while wearing my own over ear headphones. My conch hoop was not happy. I took it out for a day but struggled to get it back in so decided to keep it in. It is so sore and swollen and I still have a few days until I go home where I can replace with a flat back. My conch is two years old and I still can’t sleep with a hoop.

Autumnleavesarebrown · 21/03/2024 08:36

Oh no! Sympathy back. I really fancy a daith next but I’m a bit put off by the long healing process. Conchs are lush but riding hats mean I can’t have that or the helix and they look sooooo good.

Oh hello! I just had my rook done, and I want tragus, helix and conch done.

It seems quite popular among women of our age, now it's more acceptable. Same for tattoos really.

Autumnleavesarebrown · 21/03/2024 17:31

@theemmadilemma oooh I bet that looks good.

I agree. I can’t help but notice piercings now. I’ve got horses so can only get a daith but i’m loving all the different types out there.
