Can I cut them?

I'll start by saying I hate jeans shopping. I've been on the hunt for a while (and ordered about 273 pairs to try) and finally found a pair that i finally like and are very flattering. However they are too long... but they do have frayed edges.

Can I simply cut them? I would have presumed they have been treated at the end to stop them just continually fraying which I won't be able to do... or am I giving them too much credit? They are from zara FWIW. Pic below.

Would they hang right if you cut them? Would the leg/ankle bit be wider, if you get what mean?

They probably aren't treated so you could technically cut them (I know the ones I had weren't).
