What’s with sellers listing their items at the same cost as buying it new? They don’t seem to realise the postage and Vinted costs make whatever you’re buying much more expensive and seem to think ‘buyer protection’ is the same as consumer protection law rights ( it isn’t !! If you have an issue with what you’re sent you must go through an arduous Vinted process to dispute it and then pay yourself to return, that’s if the seller doesn’t then play games about whether they then received it etc etc.)

The same sellers will be mortal offended if you offer what you’d be prepared to pay and then block you. Absolutely pathetic behaviour. Do they not understand how Vinted works? I can just imagine what kind of people these sellers are in real life too.

sorry had to vent after receiving a rude response to my offer and then being blocked - it’s infuriating

Well, while I do agree on not being offended by offers- that's what the button is there for- I also think that it's perfectly fine for them to list at cost (or more if they want). If they have an item that someone else wants, then I think they would be daft not to try and get the maximum price that they can for it.

Of course ask for whatever you want, no issues with that but it’s not going to sell if it’s being sold brand new by a retailer for less !? I think people forget that it costs buyers a lot more than they receive because of Vinted costs and postage or they’re just chancing it. Still don’t understand why people take offers personally though. Why block!? Surely just ignore it, you don’t even need to decline

I'm annoyed by people making offers then not following through and actually buying!

GreigeO · 17/03/2024 21:43

It's ridiculous! My mind is boggled by stuff like this. I have sold stuff on e bay that has gone for more than or near the retail price too, and not particularly rare stuff. Why!?

LadyBird1973 · 18/03/2024 07:26

I think vinted is seen as the online equivalent of a charity shop, so there's an expectation of cheap. Not least because items are sold as seen and there's no real returns policy unless an item is obviously not as described.
Plus you don't have to deal with eBay's PayPal and always siding with the buyer crap.
