GHD's that work in USA

Hi all,

Does anyone know a good way (if it's even possible) to make GHD straighteners get as hot/work as well with USA voltage? Admittedly it has been many many years since I've been but I do remember having an issue where my GHD's didn't get nearly as hot and therefore did nothing on my thick quite fluffy wavy/loose curled hair! I'm looking to buy some new GHD's anyway and we are going back to USA later this year so any recommendations on good ones to get would be great. Thanks all.

Using GHDs in the USA (or anywhere that has 110V mains supply)Mk 4 (Mk IV), Mk5 (Gold Series), Mk6 (Eclipse) and Mk7 (Platinum) GHDs are designed to work at both 230V (UK and Europe) and also at 110V (US). Therefore if you have a Mk4, Mk5, Mk6 or Mk7 pair of GHDs, then they will happily work in the US.

The Mk3 models are not however universal and are designed to work at 230V only. If you were to try and use a mk3 pair of GHDs in America, then in theory they should work, but would take longer to heat up and may not get as hot.

Ah that's so handy @Orangello thank you so much. If anyone has any recommendations for newer types that work best with thick hair prone to frizz, much appreciated too!!!!

There are a lot of GHDs available in the US that work well on African American hair, various textures, while avoiding damage.
