Any better suggestions for 12 year old to wear at an informal wedding? at an informal wedding?

She's tall, slim, well proportion and shouldn't be hard to dress. I'd like her to wear something springlike but slightly sophisticated. This is all I have, really. It seems a little short? Can anyone recommend something better (and the wide fit shoes to go along with it?? Thank you so much.

Mine at 12 wouldn’t wear a dress. What does she like normally?

At 12 she will not doubt have a clear idea on what she won't wear. The red dress looks lovely, but maybe, as you say, too short for a formal event.

DoorPath · 16/03/2024 05:47

You really should take her picture down from here, not OK.

Revelatio · 16/03/2024 07:33

It’s not too short at all, looks completely appropriate for a 12yr old child.

Sonora25 · 16/03/2024 07:44

Please remove her photo or at least her head. Not appropriate

Sonora25 · 16/03/2024 07:45

And yes this dress is too short

I agree.

RuthW · 16/03/2024 07:47

The dress is lovely if she wore thick tights

AlwaysFreezing · 16/03/2024 07:48

There is something about the dress that looks almost leotard-y.

What about having a mooch on asos. Usually free returns, so you should be able to get plenty of options sent to you and return whats no good.

What colours does she like wearing? What's her normal style?

BTW, I agree with the others that you can ask MN to take the photo down and replace with one without her face showing. Weirdos are everywhere.

Your daughter is so pretty, however I don’t think it’s appropriate to post her on here

storagefilter · 16/03/2024 09:04

Please remove her photo. This should be about what she wants to wear, not what you want her to wear.

idontlikealdi · 16/03/2024 10:08

Why would you post her photo here?

FusionChefGeoff · 16/03/2024 10:20

I think the dress doesn't fit - it's too tight and too short and waist is too high.

I like the overall look though and you'd find loads of options on Vinted. If you ask for measurements you'd be able to find one that measures wider / longer than the one you've got to ensure it's a good fit. Or take the size / brand in the one you've got and look for options in that brand but in the next size / 2 sizes up?

yourlobster · 16/03/2024 10:22

Another vote for take the picture down. It's not ok to share on here ffs!

DayAndAge · 16/03/2024 10:24

She looks like she's dressed for Irish dancing - totally appropriate dress for that. Not so much for a wedding. And the colour/fabric don't give spring vibes that you're after.

Also agree take the front on picture down there's no need to be showing her face on a public site.
