£1,500 on a wedding dress…

I know the answer is your money, it’s up to you.

It made me feel like a goddess… Third marriage, aged 46, seems like a ridiculous idea. Would you do it? Tried cheaper, a couple more high street options on order but this was the one…

In my defence, first wedding was a rental dress, second no new clothes, just dressed up. Both were situational marriages, this one is a proper one for love, after spending almost 20 years together.

That's a stunning dress and if you want it, get it! Mine was £3500 - I still love it and don't regret a single penny of it 🤍

Coconutter24 · 16/03/2024 16:14

Go for it!! I did with mine. You only live once, do what makes you happy

That’s a stunning dress! Do it. You’ll regret it if you don’t.

Mine was considerably more but we saved on the wedding by having no guests 😂We did have a massive party in our barn a few weeks later because family wanted to celebrate so I got to wear the dress again!

If you can afford it and are not going in to debt for it go for it. Just scrolled up and had a look at the dress - it's stunning op 🥰

Dresses are expensive if you go to a wedding dress shop. Mine was £100 11 years ago! And that was a modest price in a modest shop

PickledPurplePickle · 16/03/2024 17:12

If you can afford it, go for it

Feellikeafailurenow · 16/03/2024 18:19

For a 3rd wedding no, i wouldn’t.

i spent £1800 15 years ago on mine, dress got wrecked & has lived in my loft since. With hindsight i’d have bought a different dress as i didn’t even like that one much but i had the opinion it was a “once in a lifetime” dress so 2nd time i wouldn’t bother.

however, i’m not you & if you can afford it then it’s irrelavant what anyone else thinks

Nosygirl01 · 16/03/2024 19:09

Im here for the girl maths! £75 a year is a bargain! Absolutely do it!

1mabon · 16/03/2024 21:06

Surely it isn't a white one.

Floralnomad · 16/03/2024 21:16

If you can afford it and it’s the one you want then buy it . My dress was £800 and that was 35 yrs ago , so probably an equivalent kind of amount in today’s money .

Lorralorr · 17/03/2024 12:40

Yes yes yes

sell it after if you need the money back, you’ll always have the photos

ohthejoys21 · 17/03/2024 18:08

Depends on how much it means to you but yes I would expect to pay that for a wedding dress. Yes you'll just wear other once but when you think about it, when you buy a normal dress you wear it a few times and different people will see you in it at different times.. EVERYONE will see you in this one, even if it's on the same day!
