reliable beauty industry news: where do you go?

I'm interested in the business side of the beauty industry: innovation, marketing, etc. So much beauty news is just regurgitated press releases and toothless product reviews: where do you go for a more critical view of what's going on?

Nadine Baggott seems reasonably un-bias.

Jane Cunningham is a beauty journalist (friend of Nadine Baggott) who has a beauty blog called 'British Beauty Blogger'. She regularly covers beauty industry news.

It's behind a paywall but Business of Fashion often covers beauty business news. Think Vogue Business as well but for both it's very business oriented, selling strategies, takeovers, etc. So it kind of depends exactly what you're looking for, I've not checked in on Jane from BBB in a long time but from what I remember aside from the occasional editorial piece it was a bit like press releases.

For innovation you'd probably have to look at cosmetic chemists professional literature although you'd have to keep in mind that a lot of innovation studies are funded by brands.

I like the Beauty Brains podcast, two cosmetic chemists who often chat beauty and cover some news beauty now and then. Their specialty is in haircare formulation though, they're not always as knowledgeable about skincare/makeup and the main aim of the podcast is to dispell shoddy marketing and explain the science honestly.
