As comfy as joggers but not joggers?

I am looking for suggestions of trousers that are as comfortable as joggers, but aren't joggers. Must have an elasticated waist. Not necessarily elasticated cuffs. Gone for style and beauty here but what I'm asking about it potentially neither stylish nor beautiful - but would be an improvement!

I find these are as comfortable as leggings/joggers but look smarter because of the fabric and cut https://www.next.co.uk/style/ST394817/C74763?dp=a&dndl=1&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI44e0jdDlhAMVHQEGAB0dyQV6EAQYCyABEgJ6pPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#C74763

I wear a lot of Sweaty Betty at home including the trousers eg

Yep, I came to suggest these. And the jumpsuit too, so comfortable

I have these in various colours.
Super comfy, but also not too casual

Lululemon Dance Studio joggers, I have 6 pairs in different colours and wear them most days. I like the cuffed bottom ones but there is a non-cuffed version too. They're really nice material, not clingy and very flattering. I always get tons of comments (good ones 😄) on them.

I've really been into a barrel leg lately, been wearing some tie waist black cotton trousers from Kiraku. And also some Alexas from Lucy and Yak. I have some of their linen barrel leg black trousers for summer and I love them, they look so unusual.

I want the Lucy and Yak cotton corduroy trousers but I can't justify the spending right now. I do fancy some jersey dungarees as mentioned upthread, they sound supremely comfortable!

Sensia · 09/03/2024 03:48

are there some kind that are oversized for home wear?

I have quite a few pairs of these, they come in various colours & lengths. Very comfy but, I think, quite smart

I wear those, I just did a large stock up in the sale, the 2 pair packs of them which are on another page were very cheap, they wash well also

I've been wearing the M&S ones for years and love them, although noticed last year they've got a bit thinner. The waist band is thick and strong and holds everything in nicely. They used to do a knee length version but seem to have discontinued them, sadly.

My poor mum needs something similar at the moment and she's only in her 50s and normally quite stylish so I bought her these

They look much better in real life and are all over Instagram in different colours plus come in a short length. I'm very impressed with the quality of the fabric.

Tu at Sainsbury’s do a very similar pair, good reviews and maybe cheaper than M&S.

I have several pairs of these. Faux leather joggers. Dress up or down, wear them all the time.

TryingNotCrying24 · 09/03/2024 09:12

I think this is the most useful thread on Mumsnet in a long time! I'm getting fed up of jeans and now want all of these trousers!

friskybivalves · 09/03/2024 09:34

Sweaty Betty Garys are lovely - either in the original fabric or the fleece version to be warmer. They come in a shorter length and have nice wide cuffs so they don't grip your ankle and do that weird riding up thing.

Chestnut134 · 09/03/2024 10:45

Oooh! I know the answer to this! It’s Toms Trunks.

I have three pairs - absolutely brilliant.

43ontherocksporfavor · 09/03/2024 11:08

Loads of stretchy fabric, wide-leg trousers around in all colours. M&S have a few. These are my new casual trousers with trainers.. Rarely wear jeans now. I also wear joggers and smarten them up with smart platform trainers, blazer and scarf .

GettingStuffed · 09/03/2024 11:09

I have a pair of these

Mine are in long. I bought them from a seller on Amazon at a discount because they are marked with the wrong size, incidentally I have a pair of gold espadrilles also from M&S that I bought from the factory shop in a size 5 but are actually a 6 for a tenner, so it's worth looking for M&S stuff in bargain shops

43ontherocksporfavor · 09/03/2024 11:09

@happyhippo24 you need platform trainers.

mrstrickland · 09/03/2024 11:56

LasEva · 08/03/2024 20:34

Not trousers, but I wear soft jersey dungarees as a sort of loungewear, the ones without a waist at all Grin They're so supremely comfortable.

@LasEva sound great, can you add a link please to your fav thanks
