As comfy as joggers but not joggers?

I am looking for suggestions of trousers that are as comfortable as joggers, but aren't joggers. Must have an elasticated waist. Not necessarily elasticated cuffs. Gone for style and beauty here but what I'm asking about it potentially neither stylish nor beautiful - but would be an improvement!

Lucy & Yak Billie (cord, elasticated waist, slightly cropped so perfect on me as a shortie) and Alexa (cotton, elasticated waist, not cropped but easy to roll up) trousers would both fit the bill - I can't wear fixed waist stuff any more and mostly wear these day-to-day: https://lucyandyak.com/collections/trousers

My teenage DC are wearing wide leg flannel check trousers from uniqlo a lot around the house. They do look a little bit pyjamary but they have a zip which makes them a bit more daytime. I have just ordered plain black flannel trousers from there to try and elevate my work from home wear. No one can see my legs on zoom, but I want to feel a bit smarter, but still comfy.

What is sizing like on these? Im 5ft 4 and a size 14. Site recommends xxl

Halara cord trousers. Get them off Ebay, though, as they’re only £12.99.

juniorspesh · 09/03/2024 15:00

I have last season's Hush cord joggers and they're great. Mine have a drawstring but the current ones don't and so they're a bit less jogger-y. I still mostly wear them for wfh though, although that is 90% of my time. I also have the Hush Alexa harem type things which are useful (you can get away with them for work meetings on a very hot day) but I wouldn't call them especially stylish.

Got my eye on these next:

I wear a lot of Sweaty Betty at home including the trousers eg

I recommend Explorer too, elasticated and looks smart but I wear them around the house. I have the winter version and it's slightly cosier. I am very apple shaped and my waist is much bigger than I'd like but the small size is very comfortable.

Just cut the label out! Japanese ladies are a lot smaller .

GREY zara trousers I bought these on a whim without trying them on and wear them at least twice a week. Wash well, come out of the machine nearly dry.

I was recommended XL (I'm a 12 and 5ft 9), but I bought the L and the fit is great. Very roomy and comfy but also quite flattering. I think the size above would have been too big. The length is perfect on me, so you might need to take up them up a bit.

thesleepyhoglet · 09/03/2024 20:12

I have the Alexa hush trousers but they look scruffy on me

I’ve just got these OP,( ignore the fact they’re called ‘pyjama style’) they are as comfy as joggers but trouser material so you don’t get knees and can wear with jumpers/tshirts/shirts. I’m considering buying a second pair I love them so much.

maddiemookins16mum · 09/03/2024 23:04

Yoga pants.

juniorspesh · 09/03/2024 23:54

last time I went in Iceland I was wearing some jersey trousers and I got followed around for looking like a shoplifter. Meanwhile Hush’s copywriters are like “effortlessly go from board meeting to an aperol spritz in this cosy piece”

43ontherocksporfavor · 10/03/2024 07:08

@juniorspesh 😂

piscofrisco · 10/03/2024 07:10

@Apple2023 I have about 6 pairs of halara trousers. I bought them on a whim thinking they would be rubbish. I love them!

I really like these trousers from m&s so comfortable And not restrictive. Slightly more put together than joggers or leggings but casual for mid week running after the kids.

I tried these as someone I met looked great in them. Uncomfortable as fuck. Once you've got used to leggings, v difficult to move to anything else

<edited to say sorry, that sounds rude - like OP, I would sometimes like to deviate from leggings>

Michiamo · 10/03/2024 07:42

Boden Harem joggers/trousers.

High elastic waist, they are cuffed though. So comfy and I get people asking about them all the time. Size down though as they come up big (and I’m apple shaped!)
