Altruist Face Fluid SPF50 - consistency?

I’ve been using this SPF for about 18 months and the first couple of tubes were definitely fluid in consistency. I started my third tube last summer and it had a much thicker, almost lumpy consistency but I’d put it down to being delivered and left outside when it was very hot last summer. It was OK when rubbed into my face though but it did need to be rubbed in.

I’ve just opened my current tube and again it seems lumpy. It’s definitely in date and hasn’t been stored (by me at least) in anything other than recommended temperatures.

Does anyone else who uses it see a marked difference in the contents like this? What is it supposed to look like?

I'm on my second - both fluid in consistency (similar to double cream).

I wonder if there’s been a “bad” batch? It’s usable but not what it was - and since I’ve been using it since the Autumn, it’s not possible to know if it’s still protecting against the sun (because we’ve not had much!)

Yep, I get mine off Amazon too. I might email Altruist tomorrow and see what they say. I’ll try and do a video of it.

There was a thing last summer where they changed their formula because of a shortage of some ingredient. I remember reading it on something.

@TheBunyip thank you for sharing that. Looks like we have our answer. At least we know it’s effective. And although the texture is odd, I’m still able to use it ok.

I’ll see out this tube but I’m not sure if I will buy again if they’ve not been able to revert to the original formulation. It became very difficult to squeeze any out whilst there was loads left in the last tube so I had to cut it open and decant. I liked it being fluid and it pills on my face now.
