Russel & Bromley - still good?

There's a pair of R&B shoes I'm thinking of buying, but they're v expensive and wanted to get a sense check of current quality. So many good brands have gone off the boil lately - has anyone got any recent R&B feedback?

These are the shoes: https://www.russellandbromley.co.uk/izzy/242091

I have 3 pairs of R&B and the quality is fab. My only gripe is they are such good quality that they go out of style long before I can justify replacing them.

I still find the quality excellent, I buy yearly from there and haven’t seen a decline in quality

Thanks both! I do have some older pairs of R&B loafers and slingbacks - pretty timeless styles and well made. I'm hesitant with this new pair because it's a lot of money... they will work with a lot of my outfits though.

They are beautiful, so much so I bought them. But then I got them home and found out that the strap pinches or hits some kind of pressure point on my ankle.

They are very similar to the Ganni Ballet flats which are a bit cheaper and that I bought and have been very very happy with.

Just got the one pair but the quality is excellent. My pair are flatforms but have tiny pearls on them and not a single pearl has fallen off in the 18 months I’ve had them.

I absolutely love the shoes you are considering. Treat yourself I say!

interesting... maybe I will go for the Ganni ones as well. I do prefer the look of the R&B but I live in the EU and they don't ship here. I was going to get a friend to bring them when they visit soon, but Ganni is less risky as I can order straight here and return immediately if there's a problem.

How do you find the fit of the Ganni ones? I've a high instep and sometimes find shoes a bit tight in the width. I have a shoe stretcher which normally sorts them out though.

I miss our R&B store so much. I have odd feet, shopping online doesn't work for me with shoes. Love my loafers. Remember having a pair as my school shoes back in the day when we actually put a penny in them !

Assuming you are looking at the buckle flats then the buckle is adjustable. I also have a high instep and bought my normal size and they have been great.

Thanks, yes the buckle flats with the closed heel, not the slingbacks. I love the slightly punk look of these styles!

oh, I've just noticed the Ganni ones are PU - ridiculous price for plastic shoes!

I'm on year 3 of the best boots I've ever owned. They are R&B and still look great despite wearing pretty much every day Oct-April (though I had them resoled last year). A lot of the styles are quite niche but if you love them, don't hesitate.

Oh they are gorgeous!
