Looking at a Le Pliage in the 'Paper' colour, does anyone have one and if so is it hard to keep clean?

Don’t have that one but I have a couple of other light coloured ones. I just clean them by washing them (in a bowl while keeping the leather dry). A scrub with washing up liquid and a nail brush works wonders!

babysnowman · 05/03/2024 10:53

@Kiitos thanks that's good to know...I'd seen people put them in the washing machine which gets the marks out but wrecks the handles

Nothing to do with Longchamps, but my DS keeps his beloved trainers clean with micellar wipes.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 05/03/2024 15:13

Sorry, nothing useful to contribute but Wow they've gotten expensive.

DGPP · 05/03/2024 15:14

I had a paler Longchamp and it got
filthy, never looked clean despite washing.
I go for the darker colours now. Amazing bags though

Mycardieistootight · 05/03/2024 20:26

Oh I love the steel colour.

PrimalLass · 05/03/2024 23:03

My daughter does - I thought it would be a rag by Easter but it looks absolutely fine.

Isaidnomorecrisps · 05/03/2024 23:40

I've had the same one in that colour maybe 15 years plus - it lasted years fine, one the tube, buses to work and general wear. It’s grubby now but honestly still not too bad. I have tried to wash it without tons of success.

JonnyTheDogFacedBoy · 05/03/2024 23:44

I have one that colour and it's looking dingy to be honest. It's probably fine if you're careful with it, but I made the mistake of taking it to my son's football matches and it got muddy. I half heartedly tried cleaning with some flash wipes, but it made no difference. I keep meaning to Google cleaning tips.

Bunda · 06/03/2024 00:00

I had a brown one that had a melted sweet in it. I know the colour is dark and forgiving.

I'm no longer keen on the bag but couldn't give it away in that state so I thought I'd try chucking it in the washing machine. It worked a treat. Good as new.

Travelsweat · 06/03/2024 06:51

I have that one and yes it does look a bit grubby. I wish I’d gone for black.

My problem with them is that the corners always develop holes and I can’t find anything in the huge, cavernous space. I do love this colour though am too messy to get away with it for long.

If you take them back to Longchamp they will repair the corners for free!

I have a peach one that I throw in the washing machine, it has been fine and comes up a treat

That's amazing- really?
I might need a trip to London- I have 2 in that state

Whatwouldnanado · 06/03/2024 17:00

Lovely but I will stick to my navy one with tan trim. I’d have that rotten after one trip!

MaloneMeadow · 06/03/2024 18:41

Yes - I’d avoid light coloured ones (they’re an PITA) and go for darker! DD has a pink one which is constantly getting stained and dirty, whilst her navy one still looks good as new years later

What?! I’ve 4 that I’ve stopped using due to the dodgy corners- this is a great tip, thank you!

babysnowman · 06/03/2024 21:10

It's so lovely but if it gets grubby I know I won't want to use it. Might just go with a safe black although am tempted by the steel now too!

Not true, I’ve done this loads and handles were fine.

babysnowman · 06/03/2024 21:14

I'd seen a TikTok where she'd put it in the machine and it cleaned the bag but the handles were falling to bits, maybe she was doing something else to it too though 😂

😂 maybe she did it on a hot wash?! I’d only do it on gentle. Comes out lovely.

Use a spray protector on it first.
This works really well.
