Hi All,

I have booked my first session off Botox for later this month. I had a consultation appointment with the clinic about it at the weekend. I'm a bit unsure though about whether there's a particular skin care regime I should be following, or is there anything you can recommend. Cleans, tone, moisturize, SPF?? Am I missing anything? They also spoke about micro needling, but that's a bit beyond my budget at the moment. I would love to hear of any tips as to how to prepare my skin or make the most of the Botox. I did invest in a tube of their recommended facial moisturizer when I was there ("Environ"), are there any cheaper alternatives, for further down the line? Thank you.

I have an appt in 2 weeks for my first time and nothing about prepping the skin was mentioned? I’m more worried about bruising!

The only things I'd say are don't drink the day before or day of Botox and I'm pretty sure you shouldn't apply makeup afterwards for the rest of the day unless it's mineral based. I also tend to avoid my moisturiser the day I have mine done too purely so I'm not rubbing around the injection sites.

Hope you love the results!

I've never bruised after mine but I do get bumps at each injection site so I definitely don't plan to go anywhere I need to see people for around an hour afterwards. They don't last long but I did freak slightly when I saw them the first time

@Chocciechunkcookie oh shoot! What’s the logic for not drinking? My appt is booked the day after my 30th 🙈

Haha I think it's a bruising thing... Something about it thinning the blood? Not 100% sure! I just nodded and agreed
