Laptop bag for work

Starting a new job and want a new bag for laptop, leather and looking quite professional. Want to spend up to £500 on it. Any recommendations? Saw a gorgeous Celine bag but way over budget at 2500.

It’s inexpensive but it’s leather and I’ve had it for two years so far, used for work every day and it still looks immaculate.

This one is a bit over budget but I saw it recommended on here a while ago and I think it's beautiful so just throwing it out there!

How about this - beautifully crafted, made in the UK, might last you your whole career:

They also make tote bags of course, but I like the purposefulness of this.

How do you travel to work?

I love the look of lots of the tote bag style laptop bags but they usually have thin leather straps and if you have to carry the laptop for more than a few minutes they dig in and I get sore neck and shoulders from the weight. If you travel by train or will be carrying the bag a lot then a backpack may be more practical and comfortable.

Save your back, get a laptop backpack.

What size laptop and what general professional area?

That is gorgeous!

Thank you, it really is! I’ve honestly been so pleased with it. I was looking to spend £200 ish, happy to go more if needed. But that one just fitted my requirements exactly and I thought for £65 or whatever it was worth a punt. Been great!

@Talipesmum i love that! Exactly what I’ve been looking for! Ordering today!

I've ended up with a backpack, carrying everything in a handbag was just too heavy

Flockameanie · 04/03/2024 16:16

I got this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. It's gorgeous in person. I carry my laptop in it (in a sleeve) and can fit loads (I even did an overnight trip from work and managed to stuff everything I needed). But I drive to work. If I was on public transport I'd be looking for a smart backpack to save my back.

@Talipesmum is this bag lined? I bought something similar thinking it would be lined but it isn't and the inner sheds bits of leather over everything so I've had to stop using it.

Yes, there’s a brown cottony lining, with a material divider down the middle so there are two main compartments, and a zip bit in the middle divider and small pockets in the lining on the inside.

I'm on the hunt too. Surely a stylist bag that carries a laptop is one of the most commercial niches a brand can fill and yet it's so hard!

While I wait for a Birkin to magically appear in my life... I'll probably get this Everlane tote (holds a 13" laptop)

I’ve had a couple of everlane bags and have absolutely loved them. The ‘cognac’ colour they do is a beautiful colour.

myladybelle · 04/03/2024 21:47

Thanks so much everyone. I travel by car so really don't need something too "comfortable" like a backpack. Love the osprey one
