I need some socks - mainly black, though some patterns are OK.
I walk weirdly with a sort of twist-off motion; I have orthotics in my shoes, but this doesn't seem to stop it happening, and I always get lots of blisters and calluses under the balls of my feet. Unfortunately it also makes my socks wear out extremely quickly right in this place!
I have been wearing 1000-mile double-layer liner socks, as I thought that the double layer would help reduce the sore spots on my feet, but I'm not sure it really does - and when they wear out quickly, in that spot, it's frustrating as they are quite expensive.
So I want something else - they need to be rnormal socks not hiking socks to fit in my shoes - but moderately thick comfy fabric/style within that category to help my sore feet; fit fairly tightly (I am size 4 or 4.5 so lots of 'one size' or size 4-8socks are too big, or they are the sort of material that just kind of swims around without gripping the foot, and both of those things are likely to cause blisters); and most importantly, are robust and durable and won't wear out within a few weeks. Bonus if they are decently priced too, given how often I seem to have to replace socks.
Any recommendations? what are your best, long-lasting, comfortable every day socks, preferably that come in sizes?
