Face wash recommendations

Any recommend a decent face wash for 40 year old with oily skin and that clogs easily? No comodogenic ingredients and won't dry skin out completely?
Big ask I know but I've tried loads.
Currently using freederm sensitive which is ok but has coconut in which can clog skin.

CeraVe - I like the smoothing cleanser but there are several to choose from that might suit you better,

Boots have just started stocking Japanese brand Curel, their foaming wash is brilliant

I've gone back to the Tropic cleanser - much as I don't want to (MLM company), but it does seem to agree with my skin more than any other I've tried recently.

I love this one, from marks and Spencer's- £2! Prefer it to my Elemis one which I think dries my skin www.ocado.com/products/m-s-facial-exfoliating-scrub-619908011

I second Cerave SA cleanser. Or The Inkey List fulvic acid is lovely face feels v clean and fresh but no dryness and it is a bit brightening (don’t be alarmed by the brown bits in there, they’re peat apparently!).

You could try a proper Castile soap bar? If it's a proper one, it will be 100% olive oil soap - it doesn't lather much but is very good at cleansing whilst not leaving skin dry.
You do need to find one that is just olive oil though, like this:

Simple moisturising facial wash. Been using it for years.

I like the Sali Hughes Clean Sheet one.

RhetoricalQuestion · 29/02/2024 17:50

I use The Ordinary squalane cleanser

I have been using La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser. I'm about half way down my first bottle and my skin is transformed!

My skin is smoother & pores definitely less noticeable!

I'm really surprised as I'm sure I have used it before and can't remember the results being this good!

Paddingtonthebear · 29/02/2024 19:01

Tried lots of different things but keep going back to The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser. Doesn’t

cause dryness, gets mascara off with zero stinging, perfect.

DorisJoy · 29/02/2024 19:05

Altruist or Cerave.

Raccaccoonie · 29/02/2024 19:06

I have oily skin and it took me ages to stop using foaming ones, but oil cleansers are far better for me. DHC Cleansing Oil, or the Sali Hughes Clean Sheet.

Another vote for cerave
