No, just use them up, one by one! If you have any product that doesn't work for you, then toss. Rather, rinse and recycle.

I've been using up bits since before Christmas. There was a thread started about this.

Empty the pots/tubes into the bin first so that you’re not tempted to get them out again

iwantavuvezela · 28/02/2024 21:33

Use Olio where you can give stuff away, I made up a package of all unused/haf used cosmetics and it was asked for very quickly of going up. That way someone else might get something they like or can't afford, and saves it going to landfill

I worked my way through tubs of facecreams and serums quickly by using them as body cream! Mixed them together and slathered them on!

Teq · 28/02/2024 21:36

Do you work in an environment with other women?

When I do a cull I bring stuff into the office and it gets snapped up. A lot of it tends to be brand new but find people are happy to take lightly used product (obviously not mascara etc, but definitely creams).

OneFrenchEgg · 28/02/2024 21:36

I offer unopened stuff to friends/friends children. I am really ruthless and unsentimental. Bin, anything I haven't worn or used. Aveda foot cream sat there for three months? Gone! No7 mascara that ran down my face? Gone! Now I just replace or try before I buy.

AttaThat · 28/02/2024 21:37

Offer it to others. I sorted a big carrier bag’s worth before moving, all opened. Put it on marketplace for free and had a dozen requests for it!

Totired · 28/02/2024 21:37

I have a go to person that takes everything off my hands. They love a freebie and will use any and all products regardless of how much is left.

ive been pretty good though and really trying to use what I have before buying new.

Any gifting sites local to you? I see people putting half used toiletries all the time on them.

strugglingnd · 28/02/2024 21:39

Donate to local homeless shelter. Females really appreciate toiletries .

stayathomer · 28/02/2024 21:42

Yes, definitely give it away if you’re getting rid of it make sure you really will never use it!

bizzey · 28/02/2024 21:43

Ohhh wow!
Why didn't I think of women's shelters !
That will make it so much easier for me to bag up .

Brilliant .
Thank you .

  1. Don't buy any more
  2. Use everything up before you allow yourself to buy more

Anything unopened and not too old May sell on Vinted? I've got rid of lots that way

This also is a great method

We have a beauty box at work. One of the ladies takes it to the Acute Women's psychiatric ward. I have brought in a number of creams and serums plus make up and hair stuff, particularly now that I no longer have to smother my hair in rich oils and creams, now my hair is shorter!.
