Mascara recommendations - sensitive eyes

YouBetYourBippy · 27/02/2024 09:16

As I'm getting older (late 40s) my eyes are getting more and more sensitive and watering a fair amount. This means my mascara runs into my eyes a bit and then it creates a problem as my eyes get sensitive and red. Given that I look basically dead without mascara 😂 does anyone have any suggestions for mascara that is good for sensitive eyes?

Thanks in advance!

Following!

I've been wearing Max Factor 2000 calorie. It's doesn't irritate but gets clump quickly

Tubing mascara is the answer. Search for tubing mascara in mumsnet and you'll find several long threads with loads of brilliant recommendations.

Why is tubing good?

AConvivialHost · 27/02/2024 18:36

I've tried the Clinique and No 7 tubing mascaras and both caused significant irritation, so wouldn't say all tubing mascaras are suitable for sensitive eyes. Holy grail for me is the Beauty Pie tubing mascara - been wearing it every day for a month now, and no issues

DHC Mascara Perfect Pro is very good

I need to be careful with tubing too, some irritate me.

Why is tubing good?

Cos it like insulation tubing on the eyelashes is the only way I can describe it. Most mascaras are tiny fibres which do flake and can, for some of us cause huge irritation.. When you take tube mascara off, you see wee tubes on your cleansing pad

Get them lifted and tinted instead

YouBetYourBippy · 28/02/2024 06:58

Thanks everyone - will try some of these. @similarminimer I used to do that but I'm allergic to the products used in that now too 😂

Ere Perez waterproof avocado mascara is very gentle on the eyes.
