Hi All, I’m looking to revamp my skincare routine. Ive seen a few on here talk about Skin+me and Dermatica. Is there one better than the other? I do have dry skin but that would be it. Any advise would be amazing. Thank you ☺️

I really like Dermatica but have no experience of Skin & Me. I use their squalene cleanser, Hyaluronic acid and peptide moisturiser too and they have all been excellent for my neglected skin. I wanted to keep as simple a routine as possible and it’s working well for me. My treatment is tret and hydroquinone currently, no side effects.

I've been using skin&me for about 5 months and am really happy with it. My skin looks amazing and it has really simplified my skincare routine. I'm using up all my own cleansers, moisturisers and serums and then will buy from skin&me. You really don't need to use any masks or treatments, it's so easy. Yes I had a bit of irritation at first but that soon passes. My skin is so supple and glows! Look for deals for your first month, there are lots out there.

What skin issue do you think you’d be needing it for? I have papular rosacea and have found skin&me to have really helped but if I had quite regular skin I think I’d be happily buying way too much at cult beauty or beauty pie.

Thank you. I’m 48 and just want something that helps with the signs of aging and skin glow. I do use a retinol at the moment but only a lighter one, hyaluronic acid and a Vit C. I would like to try Tretinoin. I just don’t know what would be best.

I’ve never used skin and me but I do use dermatica and have been doing so for around 5 months now. I can honestly say my skin has never looked so good. I supper with spots (in my 30s!!) and they have Definatly reduced.

I will say that it can be quite drying, but I make sure to use a really thick moisturiser after so it hasn’t been that much of an issue for me, but it would be if I didn’t use my welda skin food.

if you did want to try I have my referral which gives us both £20 off and your first one for £2.90. 🙂

I'm using Skin+me. I had used retinols before on regular basis but the tretinoin they prescribed it made a real difference to how my skin looks. I've always been into skincare and had a pretty solid routine for a long time, so I was surprised to see the difference was big and noticeable really quickly.

I've used Skin & Me for 3 years but managed to build up an oversupply of the tubes as they sent them so often. So I cancelled a while back.

Have just used @Magik01 's link so adding mine below in case anyone else feels like trying?

I use skin+me and really like it. I went away this week and forgot to take it with me, and I've definitely noticed it in my skin condition. I have rosacea so it really calms my redness and leaves me smoother.

nickyschof · 22/03/2024 15:23

I've used both.. I was using Skin and Me, but found I was quite sensitive to it, and couldn't go above 0.09% tret. I've just started using Dermatica, started on 0.015% with no reaction at all. All the ingredients are the same, but Dermatica is more of a gel like substance. I'm really happy with it.

I started Skin + Me in December. I'm 56 and it's lessened fine lines and improved the quality of my skin - I have smaller pores and generally my skin has a finer, more polished appearance. The increase in tret has been quite gradual and I haven't had any redness or flaking. I don't find it that drying either. After applying it at night I wait around 10 mins then put on a layer of La Roche Posay Nutritic and that's it. I would recommend it.

I'm 46 and have tried Dermatica, Skin + Me, Monderma, and Obagi.

Here's my take...

Dermatica (£25/12.5ml): Excellent customer service and most thorough consultation process.
Skin + Me (£30/12ml): Highly effective for acne, inflammation and redness.
Monderma (£24/15ml): The best for reducing age spots and wrinkles, and beautifully packaged.
Obagi (£97/20ml): Didn’t stand out and felt more like a marketing gimmick.

Each product has its strengths depending on your skincare needs. I recommend either one over retinol and other OTC night creams.

I still have 3 of their bottles.
