Just that really, any recommendations for a nice lightweight tinted moisturiser.

YSL Nu. Foolproof to apply, great range of colours, doesn't look like you're wearing foundation but makes your skin look much better than it is.

LoveSandbanks · 24/02/2024 09:52

I love Eborian. Cc cream for almost daily use - my skin but better and bb cream if I’m going into the office/out. You can use the cc completely on its own but I’d put on mascara/eye makeup and blusher with the bb cream iygwim

Not BB or CC but the Maybelline 4 in 1 glow perfector is amazing!
My skin isn't clear at all but this really does give a lovely healthy glow and sufficient light coverage that a dab of concealer on my worst areas is all that's needed.

Ooh I must look out for this.. thank you!

Queenofcheesesandwich · 24/02/2024 10:03

IT cosmetics CC cream. I have severe redness and the coverage is amazing. Nice creamy texture.

It's not great if you are pale. It made me look tangoed.
I found my holy grail recently - Laura Mercier. It has SPF30 as well.

I am pale! And it is great for me! Different strokes for different folks eh! It's definitely worth a try for the op!
I prefer a seperate spf than ones already in makeup. Will look out for the laura mercier one though, must at least try a sample, people speak very highly of it!

MorrisZapp · 24/02/2024 10:41

I've never found a BB or CC that doesn't look like orange polyfilla on my pale skin. I've tried every drop, tint and glow in existence.

The only one I can live with is Giorgio Armani neo nude foundation. I put it on with a fat brush I bought in the poundshop, over loads of moisturiser. Damn you, dry skin!

Bookist · 24/02/2024 11:38

Anyone know why Erborian CC doesn't have an SPF in it? Really surprised as Koreans are so hot on SPF.

minipie · 24/02/2024 13:14

It does Bookist? SPF 25 in the CC and SPF 20 in the BB.

Bookist · 24/02/2024 16:24

Oooops, sorry. Yes you're right. I hadn't noticed x

Itsallsostressful · 24/02/2024 16:31

Trinny London BFF is lovely....very light x

Just add moisturiser to your foundation.

I do this, too.
I also blend two different shades of foundation to get an exact match, as one is too light, one is slightly too dark.

IWD23 · 24/02/2024 16:37

True match plumping tinted serum.

LutonBeds · 24/02/2024 16:50

Erborian gets a lot of love on here but the CC in the lightest shade goes orange on me. The BB is OK thought.

BuntyCollocks · 24/02/2024 16:53

I love the hourglass tinted moisturiser

I have a selection of Boots No 7 ones - city light for every day and the BB cream for more coverage. Over the years I have tried loads but these are the only ones that work with my translucently pale skin tone!

Do you use these instead of foundation? The No7 tinted moisturiser seems to have changed over the years. I like it when it was in the gold tube but don't know if its the smae now.

Yes. I find foundation too heavy these days.
I don't need the coverage and at my age (65) less is more.

Neversaygoodbye · 25/02/2024 08:57

I love the Erborian CC cream for every day, there's just something about the way it sinks into the skin rather than sitting on top of it which makes it much more like skincare and it makes my skin look great. However, it does look slightly orange on me. I wish they'd bring it out in the nude shade as this seems a better match for pale cool/neutral toned skin.
I keep trying alternatives, currently enjoying the No7 city shield but it still doesn't sink into the skin and give me the same beautiful blurred skin that erborian does. Anyone found anything to match the erborian cc but a better shade range? (Alternatively we need to campaign for a lighter shade).

RampantIvy · 25/02/2024 09:41

Laura Mercier - much loved by many mumsnetters, so I took myself off to the local shopping mall and had different shades tested on me by a very helpful sales girl and found a shade that exactly matched my skin. It is very light and not at all like a foundation.

BeretRaspberry · 25/02/2024 10:18

Another vote for Erborian. I also don’t agree you need to have clear skin. My skin is generally ok now as I use Tret but I still get the odd spot and all I do is add a touch of concealer and it’s fine.

Erborian is quite pricey compared with some but I find it lasts for ages.

Edited to add…for those saying about the orangeness of Erborian - I use the CC red corrector and that doesn’t go orange in any way. And I am extremely pale.

WhereAreWeNow · 25/02/2024 11:29

I've wondered about the red corrector @BeretRaspberry
Does it have a bit of coverage or do you put it on under a BB/foundation ?

It does have a small amount of coverage. But it mainly makes my natural skin just look loads better. I use it on its own for general day to day in the house or popping to the shop etc. I’ll add a bit of bronzer, blush and mascara. Takes 5 minutes.

If I’m going out for a coffee or anywhere further, I use a tiny bit of foundation over the top. And when I say a tiny bit, I mean like the size of a petit pois! And even then I sometimes don’t use all that.

egowise · 25/02/2024 14:31

Also eborian here. I use the BB cream.

Merrilydancing · 28/02/2024 20:50

I thought that I would update you on my quest.

I went off to Boots to get the much recommended eborian but they didn’t have any. I ended up getting the L’Oréal Magic BB cream which is perfect!

Thanks for all of the recommendations and maybe the next time I am in the city I will be able to try out all of these.
