Funeral tomorrow - black dress, coat and high shoes…. which tights please?

Last minute shopping gone awry - very few tights in my size locally…and might have to make do.

My dress has a slight split up the front, do I wear black opaque 100 denier, black 15 denier or nude?

I think either of the black. If you're worried about feeling like the split is too much then go tor the 100 denier.

I’d wear black tights. Not the 100 denier. It’s nearly spring and thinner denier will look better with the split.

I wore 15 denier tights at a recent funeral.

To be honest, as long as you look ‘formal’, no one is going to notice the dernier of your tights.

I'd wear the 100 just so I could forget about the split and not be pulling at it all the time.

If the split finishes at the knee then nude (or 15 at a push, but I’m not keen on the look, makes me think of Dorian Green in Birds of a Feather), if higher than the knee then black.

Unless you are Dorian Green or the secret mistress of the deceased, then go for the 15 and a fur stole!

@sufac it’s funny you should say that. Growing up, anything more than a 15 was considered Nora Batty tights , (from ‘Last of the Summer Wine)’. No one would be seen in thick tights! How fickle fashion is!

Haha! I only like thick black or coloured tights. Nude should definitely been thin. It’s just thin black, or worse ‘nearly black’ (do they still do those, I remember my mum buying them?).

No one will remember. Just be comfortable

I’d go for the 100, I wore 15 deniers in the early 90s, but I think once you’ve known something go right out of fashion it becomes dead for you.
