Mini hair straightener recommendations please?

Just had a fringe cut and it's curly, unexpectedly! Can anyone tell me which mini hair straighteners work and which should be avoided?

I've got a pair of small straighteners which aren't great, too easy to burn yourself as they're so short.

I used to have a pair like this that are full size with small/thin plates, they were fab for shorter hair/fringe. In fact I might buy myself some more now I've started browsing as I just had my hair cut short!

Thank you youveturnedupwelldone - do you know if those cheaper ones are good quality or is it just a question of taking the risk? I suppose for £30 it's a risk I could probably afford to take!
