What piercing should I get?

Help me choose, I'm thinking of another piercing. I have both lobes done twice, then I had helix done last year in one ear. I'm thinking maybe conch in other ear, or tragus, or maybe upper lobe? Can't decide!

Tragus I’ve had mine done recently I’m 57 had so many compliments and I absolutely love it

Vetoncall · 19/02/2024 21:56

I have 3 lobe piercings in each ear, a helix in one and flat in the other. The high lobe ones are really nice, as is the flat. I don't think you'd go wrong with high lobe or conch, or just get both 😄

I'm contemplating a rook in the ear with the helix and a mid helix in the ear with the flat. Also would like to get another helix next to the existing one as I've seen some really nice double helix looks.

Twinklewonderkins · 19/02/2024 21:56

I also say Tragus, I have lots of piercings and it’s one of my favourites.

Isabelle70 · 19/02/2024 22:18

Tragus, I had mine done 2 years ago but it did give me uneven wrinkles having to sleep on one side for a year whilst it healed!

I've just booked to have mine done this Thursday. How did you get on with the healing? My daith was a PITA, it took around a year to heal.

A year?? I slept on my helix after about a month!

@Floofydawg it was all going fine until the hairdresser gave it a good battering when washing my hair! It just didn't want to heal and I did think I was going to have to remove it.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 20/02/2024 07:10

My tragus is quite temperamental too.

This is my second attempt at having one . The first never healed and I admitted defeat and took it out.

I had it done again last August. It has healed much better this time but it still flares up from time to time, especially if you knock it slightly.

I do love it though so happy to persevere with it.

LaunchingTeabag · 20/02/2024 07:22

My tragus healed very quickly and looks lovely.

The piercing I had in my upper ear (forward helix) never healed and had to be taken out. I had upper conch instead and that's been so much better.

My last one was an orbital piercing in my lobe. I've had a few nice comments on that because not many people have it (round here anyway).

Floofydawg · 20/02/2024 12:21

@LaunchingTeabag just had to Google what an orbital piercing was!

Definitely conch, looks cute, not many people have it, and it heals way faster than many other parts of the ear. My helix still wasn’t healed after 3 years so I took it out but my conch was fine to sleep on after a few weeks

FunkyMonks · 20/02/2024 12:41

Rook by far my second easiest piercing to heal joint was septum and nipple they healed like a dream no longer have my nipple done now took that out late 20s septum I still have and love.

My conch piercing is by far the worst to heal I'm still having issues with the god damn thing and this is my third attempt at having it 🙈.
Helix was easy as well.
Tragus I could never get to heal either gave up on that always had irritation bumps guess cause where it is.
Forward helix another problem one I couldn't get to heal.
Nose piercing super easy but again took that out in my early 20s no desire now that I wear glasses and have little children wouldn't want them accidentally catching that one.

MariaVT65 · 20/02/2024 12:49

Another one in your lobes! I have 3 in my lobes. Had my tragus done but it bled a lot and never healed properly and I found it trickier to fit earphones in.

FindingMeno · 20/02/2024 12:55

Conch.
So pretty.

PepsiMaxLime · 20/02/2024 20:20

@FunkyMonks isn't it funny how we’re all different! My conch has been no problem but helix was a total nightmare.

Floofydawg · 20/02/2024 20:23

Am so undecided now! Might just give the piercer free reign. 😂

Conch is the single most annoying piercing I've ever had. It healed fine but I find it so uncomfortable for sleeping. Even if I'm on my back and just have my head tilted to that side it would pinch. I don't usually wear it anymore.

Peppapog263 · 20/02/2024 20:29

You could have a mid helix underneath your current one.

LOL. I'm 54 and it's not the 90s.

I got stacked lobes - over my 2nd lobe holes - a couple of weeks ago, they look really cool 😎 You have to have the right anatomy for it though as you need more space.
Also love my daith I had last year!

DopamineChaser · 20/02/2024 21:02

I have 10 piercings in each ear...... get them all done 😂 I'm clearly the wrong person to ask!!

Tragus is definitely one of my faves though as is my conch!
