Someone recommended a face yoga woman to look at on YouTube along with a jade roller and almond oil for my crepey lost-weight neck. I can't remember what thread it was on so starting this one. Has anyone had any luck with face yoga a roller and almond oil? My crepey neck is getting me down. I'm 47.

I think the oil will be what’s doing the heavy lifting rather than the rollers. Rollers just push excess fluid away so that you get a temporarily improved contour, it won’t do anything for crepey skin.

Retinol is really the best option- it increases collagen levels so is going to help replace some of the volume that’s been lost. Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3 is a good starting point, as is the Skin Rocks Retinol 1. Both are gentle enough not to burn your skin, but use a highly effective form of retinol that means you’ll see results fairly quickly.

I’d also cut back on any harsh/drying products, like cleansers with surfactants or exfoliators more than once a week.

Thank you. Where do I get retinol from? Is it expensive?

Medik8 are very well-respected for their retinols. The starter concentration goes for £49 pounds on their website (https://www.medik8.com/products/crystal-retinal). They use retinaldehyde which is a less irritating but more effective type of retinol. Make sure you start with the ‘1’ or ‘3’, and only increase to the next level once you’ve used the entire bottle. I think SpaceNK sells them.

Whatever you decide to get, just make sure it’s a low and gentle concentration to start with, and always wear SPF! Retinol pushes young skin to the surface, which looks flawless but is more vulnerable to sun-damage.

If your budget is lower op this one was recommended by a dermatologist, the Retinoid one rather than the retinol one. Boots do it in some stores or online.

Which is better The Ordinary Retinol or retinoid?
In general, retinoids are stronger than retinol. They contain a higher concentration of the product, and the molecular structure of vitamin A in this form allows it to turn over skin cells at a faster rate than retinol.

Thank you, that's good to know. I wasn't prepared for my neck to go turkey.
