Concealer Recommendations?

I have used NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer for years, and really like it. But with the rising cost of everything I can't really justify spending £25+ on concealer anymore. I'm gradually switching to cheaper brands for makeup (discovered Lottie recently which I love) and skincare (Hello The Ordinary and Inkey List!).

In this vein I ordered a NYX concealer that was allegedly a dupe for the NARS one, but it's really not the same. I mean I'm not expecting a £7 concealer to be identical to a £25+ one but it's so much thinner/less creamy, doesn't blend as well, has much less coverage, and made my under eyes feel quite dry.

I'm pale-skinned with neutral undertones, which was another reason I love the NARS one as the shade range means I can get a really good match that isn't too orangey or pinky. I'm nearly 40 with very dry skin. These days I use concealer strategically rather than a full face of makeup as my skins not too bad and I find I look younger if I don't cake on too much base, so I need a concealer that performs well and wears well (Christ I'm talking myself into just buying the NARS one here aren't I?).

Any leads gratefully received...

I like elf concealers best. Nars tests on animals.

Most cheap concealers are a waste of money imo. I honestly think you’d be better off saving up or saving money elsewhere and sticking with a higher end concealer.

Having said that though Bourjois healthy mix is not bad for under a fiver and I wear it regularly (I don’t wear foundation). If I couldn’t get that I’d go for Stila at about £20.

I know its not what you asked but my favourites are Chanel sublimage and Sisley. About £80 each. I know. I’m in my fifties though and lucky enough to be able to indulge my belief that concealer is the most effective cosmetic you can use and you do get what you pay for.

I do buy a lot less makeup than even five years ago, which justifies it in my mind!

Tarte Shape tape

Second vote for Tarte shape tape. It's excellent

Just cut back somewhere else and use less. You will end up wasting money trying to find a dupe

Tarte Shape tape

Why is it called Shape Tape? 🤔 It looks like a normal lipgloss style liquid.

Oh dear, I came on to recommend NARS!

I have Tarte - it is not as good as NARS imo

Revolution concealers are not bad for the cheap price. But they don’t last as long or have the pigment of NARS

Benefit Boing is not bad

If you use a tinted moisturiser you may find you can get away with using less concealer

Oh and Shape Tape absolutely is a standard liquid concealer in a tube with a wand (quite an annoying fat wand as I recall but may be getting it mixed up with another).

Weird. I always imagine it being like those mouse shaped Tipp-Ex tape roller things you get in quirky stationery shops.

I really like the Collection lasting perfection concealer

It's very popular, works brilliantly and it's cheap

I did too 😂 but nope.

Thank you for the recommendations. Maybe I'll just stick with NARS... 😂

I have the Tarte Shape Tape but find it really thick & heavy looking, hard to blend.
Like you I’m very pale which doesn’t help as a lot tend to be a bit dark or orangey on me. Those who say it’s the best thing as you get older, how do you use it? I’m sure I haven’t really got the hang of getting the best from it.

Revolution has a good shade range incl lots of pale options if you wanted a cheaper option. NARS also great for shade range but it can be hard to find a place with all shades in stock (eg Space NK tends to have only about half the shades)
