Period pants - better coverage?

I've been using M&S period pants for 3 years and been very happy with them, but lately I've started having leaks at the front. It's possible my periods may be heavier, or maybe the absorbency is less, or maybe both - but I'm now looking for period pants that have bigger coverage at the front but are not in the boy shorts style. I've trawled through the Modibodi, Thinx, Wunsch etc websites but it's not always clear how high the gusset reaches at the front.

Or is my problem just decreased absorbency?

I think they do lose absorbency over time. I had the M & S pants but have found that I prefer the reusable pads. I have ‘night time’ ones that are very long at the back and front which are brilliant, plus smaller ones for during the day.

I use Cheeky Wipes ones and the absorbable part goes up to the waistband

Thank you both! I'll look up both options.

I have the M&S ones, I did notice it said on the label not to use fabric softener when you wash them as it stops them working, Incase that's what's happened

Modibodi heavy flow ones have complete coverage. Those ones are my go to for the heavy first days and overnight.

DumpedByText · 15/02/2024 22:11

Modibodi heavy flow shorts have the protection to the waist band front and back. My DD is 16 and swears by them.

She also uses Hey Girls, they are so soft and don't leak at all.

So I have trialled pretty much EVERY brand out there for my heavy periods. Wuka are the best. Particularly the night time ones - they have a gusset all the way up and can absorb an insane amount. Was really disappointed in modibodi, even the thickest ones leaked which is disappointing at that price point

Next heavy ones have padding all the way up the front...

StarTwirl · 15/02/2024 22:22

They only last a certain number of wears and 3 years has definitely surpassed that

redastherose · 15/02/2024 22:47

Myself and both adult daughters use wuka pants, all have great coverage and go right up front and back and last for years.

glowfrog · 16/02/2024 06:39

@Nocturna definitely haven't used fabric softener- only Persil normal detergent

@Talkwhilstyouwalk I'll check out the Next ones, thank you

@StarTwirl good to know. I've loved my M&S ones and would still recommend them to anyone. Tempted to go with them again tbh. Maybe I'll get a mix of brands this time.

Thanks everyone for the personal and detailed recommendations.
