Light jacket for a 'pear shaped' 35yo?

I've spent years looking for a good quality, classic light to mid weight jacket that will last. Something fairly casual and suitable for spring/autumn. I'm 35 and have wide hips/thighs (size 12) and a tiny top half (size 8) and most jacket styles make me look like a ball shape. Or they fall at the widest part of my wide thighs and really emphasises them.

The only jacket I own is a cropped denim jacket which I like. But can't really wear it with jeans, and it's more of a summer jacket.
Any suggestions really appreciated. Open to any sort of neutral colours that will go with many clothes. I'm just not keen on anything that gives 'corporate,' vibes if you know what I mean. Thank you!

Would you wear a cropped trench coat style jacket like the John Lewis one below? There's lots around at the moment, some are faux leather too, Reserved had a lovely one in store, I can't find it online though.

Thank you @thedevilinablackdress I like the cropped looking Rapanui one, worry the others may look a bit bulky but love the orange
