How old- feel a bit deflated !

I’ve always been a staunch avoider of all things cosmetic surgery, cant afford it/too scared but had a rare night out last night and an even rarer picture taken and all of a sudden , I thought jeez age is catching up on me. How old do you think I look ( it’s fine you can be honest) and any tips to sort my eye bag situation out as they actually look bigger than my eyes themselves ? I’m not sure my Olay eye cream is cutting it anymore.

Everyone posting a specific number to guess your age should be forced to post a recent pic of themselves.

That would be foolish. I know too many Mumsnetters to do that! A few here know what I look like anyway.

Besides, and as a pp said, she asked us to guess her age.

I’m in my 20s and would probably place you at 35+. Your face generally looks youthful and I’m surprised you haven’t had work done, If you said you had cheek filler, I’d believe it. You don’t really have telltale signs of ageing. I wouldn’t think you were my mum’s age.

For me the there’s a few things that make you seem older than me - your style choices; hair, makeup and outfit. Overall, if you styled everything a bit differently, you would probably look a bit younger. The other thing is your smile, is your gum line receding? You can get Botox for a gummy smile which you might like the look of.

I wondered if OP had cheek filler @Logically4 but I think it might well be because she's smiling.

I genuinely would have said 46-48.

This thread has depressed me a bit.
.OP is SO beautiful with perfect skin- looks about a decade younger-and feels she needs tweakments.What about the rest of us lesser mortals? I am about the same age. I do think most people who post pix are incredibly beautiful but still feel they need work to look perfect.

She looks her age, everyone does even with tweakments. Many of us guessed 50s. And she looks gorgeous and doesn't need anything.

Stay out of the sun and it should look like that at that age.

Most people do look their age, I think. I have good skin - after years with acne in my twenties- but I definitely look my age or maybe a year younger at most.

53?!? I guessed around my age (43) and DH said late 30s.

Exactly, tweakments can take away wrinkles and make us look less tired but we still look our age. We are animals, there are more indicators that give it away in subtle ways.

The people saying she looks younger are sending the wrong message, that youth is better. That looking her age is bad. No, she's 53 and she is rocking it!

I never go in the sun , I’m very pale and burn terribly ( Irish heritage) and when I’m away I always wear factor 50.
someone mentioned my teeth , I have had treatment for gum disease and it’s worked in that I’ve kept my teeth but I think gum recession is an age thing a bit as well. I’ll look into treatment but to be honest I’m a bit scared of messing with my teeth after all the bother I’ve had - I see the dentist every 3 months so I’ll have a chat with him - thank you.
As for my chest , I think breastfeeding a ten ton baby boy back in the day didn’t help but I do exercise regularly and wear a well fitting bra. No one sees my boobs these days other than me - I’m more bothered about my face ha ha .
You are a nice lot - it’s so interesting to hear other people’s thoughts on the ageing process. Thinking about it , I suppose being newly single in my 50s has knocked my confidence a bit as well.

@MancMa, newly single in your 50's is not necessarily a bad place to be.

See it as a resurgence, you've got the back half of your life to get on with it.

I'm seeing my 50's as a really positive stage in my life, I'm fit, able and solvent, and there's so much world out there. It's early middle-age.

Yes, we're not 25 any more.

We're neither old nor young, we have a foot in both camps, and that's pretty cool.

Having said that, I love my teen children and have a great relationship with them, I also love my octogenarian parents (one of whom is still climbing mountains, skiing, and has just published what he considers to be his magnum opus).

I've got plans, I feel like I've only just started in some ways.

I guessed OP was 52 and was just a year out. There's nothing wrong with looking your age. Though I think some people were possibly unable to judge the age accurately because of the smiling photo.

Skipped on to see how old . I couldn't decide between 30s or 40s settled on 45. You look great honestly
