How old- feel a bit deflated !

I’ve always been a staunch avoider of all things cosmetic surgery, cant afford it/too scared but had a rare night out last night and an even rarer picture taken and all of a sudden , I thought jeez age is catching up on me. How old do you think I look ( it’s fine you can be honest) and any tips to sort my eye bag situation out as they actually look bigger than my eyes themselves ? I’m not sure my Olay eye cream is cutting it anymore.

you look the age you are, everybody looks the age they are. There’s no such thing as anti aging. It’s nonsense sold by the beauty industry.

in 5 years time you’ll look back on this photo & think wow I looked great.

I think you look absolutely fine for 53 - I actually think your minimal skincare routine has done rather well.

I also look 25 in my mind, and get shocked by the reality. But even if you go full Botox, fillers, retinol or surgery, you won't have the face of a 25 year old. You will have the face of a well preserved 53 year old who visibly invests in facial rejuvenation. Which is fine if you like that look (I admire it from a distance) but if your wish is to hold back the years, it won't be successful.

Do you know why I guessed spot on? Because you don't look 53. I'm 41 and look a lot younger (yes, it's a dickhead thing to say but true, and purely lucky genetics) so I thought, you look what I think I'll look like in about ten-twelve years or so, so I added 12 to my age. That was my "clever" guess on what your age would be.

However, most people think I'm about 30. So if I add 12 to that, you look 42. And you look the age of most 42yr olds. You look far younger than the average 53yr old.

I also would've said mid forties and looking good for that age.

I would have guessed about 50ish and your smile reminds me a bit of Jane Birkin - massive compliment!

you are all nice, I wasn’t on here looking for compliments rather if there was some subtle tweakments that might help with the inevitable ageing especially round my eyes . I was actually out clubbing last night ( first time in years and probably the last time ) and my lord I was more concerned by the fact that I could hardly walk this morning 😂 than looking rough! Who knew dancing could be so hard on the legs ( and I go the gym a few times a week too!).

You look happy. Didn't notice the eyes or anything aging.

Your eyes are crinkly because you are smiling,that's what everyone's does. You look fabulous and I guessed 48.

I understand about the eye bags, I’m 49 and they’ve crept up out of nowhere. 😂 Lots of sleep is the best solution, of course. Cold teabags can work wonders as well.

I spoil myself with a facial every two to three months and it does make a difference, my skin has a glow that even DH notices and he’s not an observant person (thank goodness as I can look half dead in the morning). 🤣

You look really happy and healthy and your skin looks fresh.
Basically, that all comes through before anything else.

I thought 45, but then I noticed the cleavage area and thought 54. You don't need anything 'done' - other than a better bra.
