Blundstone boots

I've decided I'd like a pair of Blundstone boots. I want a Chelsea style in dark brown. I've only ever seen them online, or being worn in the wild . I've never seen them in store, so I've never tried them on . Has anyone ever had a pair ?

I have a pair of 585s in Rustic Brown. I love them. It took a bit of trying on to get the right size but these are perfect. Never a moment's discomfort. Bought mine from Aussie Boots and the service was great.

Clarice99 · 11/02/2024 14:00

I have 3 pairs. I love them! They're so comfortable.

585 Rustic Brown, 587 Rustic Black and 2247 Mesquite Brown.

It's the sizing that worries me. I have a feeling the 6 will be too small and the 7 too big .

Also , I looked on the Aussie boots website and they do Rossi boots in the colour / style I wanted so that's am option if I don't get on with Blundstone.

I got a pair of 585s for Christmas and had to go up a whole size to get them to fit but I do have a pretty high inset to accommodate. You do get an additional pair of insoles with each pair to customise the fit.

faustina · 11/02/2024 15:15

I have a pair of the lug boots in olive and they are so big I had to go a whole size down - they're very comfortable though

I had another pair before which were a more regular fit, so I would say it depends on which model you plan to get.

They have a store in Covent Garden if you're near enough to visit it? Might be worth trying on and then perhaps you could order somewhere cheaper online, once you know which size you are

FestiveAuntFanny · 11/02/2024 15:26

Worn pretty much nothing else for the last 20 years. I'd say they size true and also do UK half sizes. If you can try on I would though, they do seem to have them in more and more shops where I live so worth looking perhaps.

Mairzydotes · 11/02/2024 17:45

I've never seen them in the shops near me ( I'm in the North East) . There's an official stockist listed on the blundstone website but it has closed down .
I'm prepared to have to return them so looking at online retailers with a straightforward return policy.

Toast sell them, do you have one nearby so you could try them on? I've got a pair of lace up boots with a side gusset. I'm a six in virtually every brand bought these in a six and they are a touch big, they have never rubbed or been uncomfortable.
I have a friend who wore hers on the beach and it did something weird to the soles so maybe a heads up, or she might just have been unlucky.

No , there's not one nearby . Seasalter have them on the website ( although they seem more expensive) but I could go to one of their stores to see if they are in store.

I've heard complaints of the soles splitting on social media .

Can't recommend this store enough (I've been buying from them for many many years). I have 519s in olive in size 5 and I'm usually a 5. I do sometimes wear chunky socks alongside tights with them.

Vetoncall · 11/02/2024 22:45

I have these 500s in stout brown. I bought them when I lived in Canada, they're really popular there. I wear them loads and they've held up really well. Fit is true to size for me.

I have three pairs (brown with mustard elsatic; brown/brown, and black/red) and they are indestructable and so comfy. I wear my usual size. My original pair was bought over 10 years ago and though now relegated to gardening boots, still going strong and no splits (soles or anywhere else). I shop around online to get the best price (Toast, Seasalt etc alsways seem to have a huge markup). Honestly can't recommend them enough.

I quite liked the ones with the mustard elastic too. Yes I was looking online for some lower prices

I love mine and they wear so well. One thing to note, I have a high instep and they sometimes give me pain on the top of my foot which I have never experienced before. Ok when on the move but stationary it sometimes still hurts 6 years on...

mdinbc · 12/02/2024 22:44

I've got the classic in Redwood which I have worn all winter for the last 3 years. The burgundy colour goes with most of my navy based wardrobe.

mdinbc · 12/02/2024 22:47

Actually I think the colour was called Shiraz when I bought them. Burgundy, anyway!

They are comfy and sturdy.

Mairzydotes · 17/02/2024 13:14

I made a special trip to Seasalt and they don't have them in store so I will have to order online .

I have the Blundstone #558’s in the Voltan Black, love them except I now won’t wear them when it’s icy on the pavements.

I had presumed the soles of the boots would have a good grip and/or be anti-slip but I nearly went flying on my first outing in them during the snow/icy conditions we had last year. I had more grip from standard Ugg boots.

timtam23 · 18/02/2024 23:57

I have some 500s which I have had for years (bought them in Australia) they are lovely boots and are pretty much true to size in the length but as I have quite narrow feet with a high instep I replaced the insoles to give a better fit as I found them quite wide-fitting, and wide around the heel.
They are absolutely indestructible boots and I have worn them everywhere, I love mine

Mairzydotes · 19/02/2024 13:35

I'm torn between the 500 and the 062 ( the less clumpy) in stout brown. Apparently the 063 are slightly longer so the recommendation is to size down in them .
I'm worried the 7 in the 500 will be too big ,as the 7 correspondents to an eu 41 and I usually take an eu40.

I'm in NZ and have these also. Very comfortable and light, and mine have also held up well, and they have good grip on the soles.

I find them slightly on the large size, but good for winter with thick socks - I have size 7. The size down is too snug on me with socks. I usually wear a eu40 also.
