If you're larger (am size 18) what do you wear?

As the title says. I'm all tummy and boobs as well. Ok legs and skinny arms.

Am wanting to wear jeans more but don't want to show my tummy. I mean I know it's obviously there but I wan to cover the waist so tops need to come to bottom of zip at least:

What to wear on top? At the moment I'm leggings/tights and pinafore or a dress.

Thanks

I wear jeans and t shirts or shirts. I am very tall too. Just don't choose short tops

plum1304 · 11/02/2024 09:55

yep longer tops -I’m short so this isn’t too hard for me but shirts could work well for you

trisky · 11/02/2024 17:46

I'm 5' 8" so not short.

I've never worn shirts since school. No idea where to start with that.

H and m is good starting point - lots of natural materials and not too expensive either!

I’m 5’9”.

For day to day I wear jeans or similar with a tee shirt and maybe an open long sleeved shirt. Sleeves slightly rolled back. Colour of shirt to tone with tee.

Jeans with nice clean trainers, collared shirt and cashmere or soft wool crew neck sweater on top.

Jeans with a cardigan all buttoned up, worn like a sweater. Silk scarf. Nice belt.

Earrings, bracelet/bangle, sometimes a neat gold necklace.
Lippy every day.
Preppy kind of look.
Sometimes with a jacket or longer cardigan coat if I’m going out.
Decent proper leather cross body handbag

Dresses and bling if I’m going out.

I am also a size 18 and 5'8"!

At the minute, if I'm out and about I wear nothing but dresses (with a cardi if cold). I have loungewear, sweatsets etc for when I'm at home. I love wearing dresses but do find them too cold for hanging round the house.

long shirts, mini dresses as tops, long tops, square cut jumpers, V cut jumpers depending on how much of a v (square is more flattering), wrapover tops.

I tend to go for looser fitting with flared trousers or leggings and I also wear long skirts
I avoid anything that doesn't cover my bingo wings (I have broad shoulders, decent biceps but no triceps, thin wrists but an apple shape/large tummy)

Similar boat but height is 5'5 so shorter than most of you.

Even I'm struggling with how to dress well. I'm in a consulting business. I wear dreadful clothes tbh. But since most days are wfh it's doable.

Wide leg trousers, i have jeans, as well as soft pull ons with a jumper or shirt. Nearly all my shirts come from H and M. Cos dresses for work. I love a shirt dress, have just bought one from Sainsbury but also have them from Anthologie. I have been wearing lots of jumper dresses as well this year from Uniglo and Cos. I got a fabulous tiered denim dress in the next sale which I love. Today i have on a soft grey jersey dress with a black polo neck, leggings and boots. I love my patterned Docs as well . am 5ft 9.
