WFH lost my style

Used to work in office, think pretty dresses, make up etc. Now I work from home with very infrequent zoom calls.

So I brush my teeth, do the school run in joggers and jumper, no make up, sometimes don't even brush my hair... God I feel like I'm a bit of a slob and sometimes I don't care, sometimes I wish there was a way to look more put together but without any effort... Any tips???? I'm getting a bit concerned that I'm perhaps not looking after myself at all, and maybe making just a tiny bit more effort would help my self esteem

Thanks all

Small steps. Jeans instead of joggers, to start.

I experienced this during lockdown when working from home, l very much had cabin fever. To try and counter it, every Friday lunchtime, l’d be the girl who got all dressed up with nowhere to go! It was what l called my “Posh Frock Walk”. I certainly felt better for it.

I’m not sure whether this directly answers your question, but something similar nay make you feel better.

Yes I’m the same, and especially when it’s so cold I just layer up in sweatshirts and joggers. I do have frequent teams calls, and some days I look awful 😢 on the days when I’m making a bit more effort I wear jeans, I bought a few nice jumpers but they are looking a bit ratty now so will maybe get another couple. I have bought some thicker/nicer t shirts but it’s so cold I cover them up anyway.

Joggers can look quite stylish though - I think it's more about how you put it together. They always look terrible on me because I just have one ancient pair for after swimming but if you look at how they are styled in shops, they can look good.
I guess I mean that it's not so much about what you wear (joggers or a dress) as how you wear it. How much thought goes into what you wear with it and how your hair looks etc.

I don't think too much about my outfits when I'm WFH, but I have started taking 5 minutes to do my hair and make up before the school run and it makes such a massive difference to the way I feel.

I just brush my hair, wash my face, put on some tinted moisturiser and blusher plus mascara and eyebrow pencil. The whole routine takes literally an extra 5 mins and I feel a thousand times better for it.

I also keep a bottle of perfume by the front door and give myself a spritz as I go out.

Thanks all. You're right I could do a bit more and it would only take 5 mins..

Diversifying a little. I had one work video meeting during lockdown which l almost forgot about. I looked oh so smart and organised on my top half. Little did they know the other end when the call came in, that l was naked from the waist down 😀!
