Missing eyebrows......(continued.)

I posted on here around nine months ago, bewailing the fact that my eyebrows were very much depleted. I'm now 65, post menopause and I guess it has to have something to do with hormonal levels/ age too.
I have very thick hair on my head, it's great.
I also have thick eyelashes too, phew.
But my once lovely eyebrows are something else. My right eyebrow is better, but my left eyebrow now only has a couple of hairs in the part next to my nose.

I'm pretty adept with an eyebrow pencil, so I'm not looking for advice there. Not interested in microblading. However at my age is there any serum, lotion that would promote regrowth or should I just save my money and be grateful that at least I'm fine using brow pencils.
Hoping fellow eyebrow challenged women can share any advice.
Thanks.

Castor oil is supposed to work wonders. Get a microneedle and put it on after that.

theemmadilemma · 08/02/2024 19:56

Uk Brow. From UK Lash.

Has worked wonders on mine.

IAmNotAVet · 08/02/2024 20:01

I'm currently in the same position. I have started using The Ordinary brow and lash serum.
Too early to report any results yet, but will come back.
It's not expensive, so maybe worth a try with a serum anyway, op.

I have alopecia universalis and have had mine tattooed. However, since then, I’ve found transfers which are AMAZING. Look at zaralena cosmetics or farah m london - they’re fairly cheap so if they don’t work for you, nothing list!

edit: ignore this, seems I misread you’re entire post!!! Sorry.

Is it worth looking at local salons and seeing what treatments they recommend?

Crazycrazylady · 08/02/2024 20:49

Regaine is meant to be brilliant for this

Astridspuzzle · 08/02/2024 20:49

Have you had your thyroid hormones checked? Being hypothyroid can affect your eyebrows especially by the outer third

Memba · 08/02/2024 21:00

Yes, what @Astridspuzzle said. I'm hypothyroid and have lost the outer third.

Am tempted by micro blading but eyebrow shape makes such a difference to the face I'm terrified I won't like the result!

UK Lash serum helped a bit.

I have had similar issues (perimenopause) and castor oil has worked for me. I apply it to my eyebrows and upper eyelashes every night before bed and they are definitely thicker

If you mean by the outer third, the part that's the tail or furthest from your nose.......that's the part which is the fullest.

Thanks for all your messages and suggestions so far, really interesting reading and so much for me to look into.

I was going to say thyroid too. Mine were getting really bad (not too upset after living with a monobrow for years and plucking but they were really sgraggly), now they're back with a vengeance now my thyroid levels are back on track

BIWI · 08/02/2024 22:05

Rapid Brow is really good.

Yes, the furthest away from your nose. No harm getting it checked.

@Tolkienista How are you getting on?
I am definitely seeing some eyebrow hairs where there were none. Its not a miracle, but there's definitely some fine hairs coming through, and the bald patches have been there for years and years.

@IAmNotAVet thanks for your message, that is really helpful. Because I received so many different pieces of advice/information I haven't started anything yet, but your message is really encouraging on what you've noticed in the way of growth, so I think that's something I'm probably going to invest in.
