Best buy for under £100?

What has been your best purchase? I have £100 and I know we are all different so it is unlikely that I will love the exact same trousers as you for example but am looking for a bit of inspiration!

I haven’t spent any money on myself in ages and need a few ideas. What will make me feel fabulous! Bag? Posh scarf? New earrings? I’m not great at trends but do like a nod to the odd new trouser/sleeve shape. I’m 47, a size 18 apple with decent boobs and legs.

I love gold jewellery rather than silver.

Any ideas welcome!

mikey-aw23 (Beanie)

And a pair of these:

jessie (Gloves)

And be chic for many Winters to com.

I would look at brands which usually cost more than a £100 and see what's in the sale.

It definitely wouldn't be a bag- have almost no interest in bags.

Probably something from Pretty Ballerina sale. I've bought full price from here and £100 is almost exactly their sale price.

Unfortunately not in the sales - but if you're drawn to colourful knitwear you could get a tiny Jo Gordon scarf:

Not necessarily this one, though it would be lovely. (All the scarves are quite incredibly soft and luscious.)

Alternatively, some lipstick and maybe something else from either Hermes or Gucci. Excellent cosmetics and the casings will make you feel joyful every time you see them or pick them up. Just really nice things to possess and enjoy.

Some glorious items on this thread - following!

bravotango · 06/02/2024 10:14

Following - just fallen down a Pretty Ballerinas hole! Thank you PP!

Notquitethere60 · 06/02/2024 12:50

I wouldn’t personally spend £66 on a lipstick. Agree with PP look for something that’s normally out of your price range but now in the sale. I’d avoid quirky one off items and stick to good knitwear or maybe a nice scarf/ gloves.

MuddlerInLaw · 06/02/2024 13:13

I have so far managed to resist buying one of the beautifully encased Hermes lipsticks for myself - but I think one of those in exactly the right colour, plus the refill (£40 approx) would be a delightful gift at around the £100 mark. (Specifically because it’s not something most people would buy for themselves.)

BlueGrey1 · 06/02/2024 15:38

I would definitely spend it on a bag that you can use daily and will go with every outfit, that would make the biggest change daily to your appearance, scarfs and jewellery you can only wear occasionally and with certain things
Cant make any suggestions though as I don’t know what size bag you would use daily

Tangelo · 06/02/2024 16:19

Oh @MuddlerInLaw these are the most lovely treat suggestions!

rachelchristina · 06/02/2024 16:54

@BangingOn that necklace! 😍

BangingOn · 06/02/2024 19:11

@rachelchristina it’s even nicer in real life, I’m definitely welcoming the return of chunkier necklaces.

beachcitygirl · 06/02/2024 19:14

I can thoroughly recommend the Hermes lipsticks. My friend bought me one as a cheer up when I was going through a horrid divorce. It makes me feel special every time I use it 😍 with refills I have had 3 different colours and the same beautiful case

Charlotte Tilbury! X

Surprisingly, try a jewellery auction - I am in love with some antique rings on Ebay and they cost a lot. I bought a gypsy Edwardian garnet ring for £80. Chester marks.

Somepeoplearesnippy · 12/02/2024 22:24

Last year I bought some Birkenstocks. The first pair I've ever had but I'm sure they won't be the last. They are so comfortable and look great with skinny jeans or jumpsuits. I also like to wear them with quite smart dresses - they make them look more casual and day wear appropriate. And I can walk for miles in them.

I'd definitely recommend them if that's the sort of look you like.
