40th birthday present ideas

My 40th is coming up. There's nothing I particularly want and I don't want to spend big money on something just for the sake of it. All the same, I'd like a keepsake or just something lovely to mark the occasion. Budget about £200 I guess.

I'm not particularly stylish. Day to day jewellery wise I wear my wedding rings, princess cut stud diamond earrings, vintage pearls and a simple Monica Vinader Riva necklace and a FitBit. Bag wise I usually just have my laptop bag for work or a changing bag for the kids, maybe with a Fossil cross body bag.

Any ideas for something that would be a nice momento that I could actually use day to day? Jewellery or other.

I don’t see the point of a ‘keepsake’ just for the sake of it - but it’s a nice amount to spend on a bottle of perfume. Maybe something from Frederic Malle or Celine, or a niche choice from somewhere like Bloom or Les Senteurs. It might last you a few years - so would be the background to all your memories of your early 40’s.

Another everyday bag in a different colour?
A pair of leather boots?
