No make up make up

Can anyone point me in the direction of good long wear make up that will give me the no make up look? I want to look like a fresher version of me (someone's who's had 8 hours sleep at least!)

So far I love bare minerals complexion rescue and glossier mascara. I've just got a tester of the Nars tinted moisturizer to try.

Looking for blush, concealer or colour corrector for under eye and a long lasting lip tint in a browny red.

In my 50s with decent skin but a few fine lines so want to avoid anything powdered. I am tanned but with sallow skin.

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint and their Stretch Concealer are exactly what you describe. I wear both and I’m a similar age to you.

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 04/02/2024 06:04

For the lip tint you could try their matt lipstick, it stays put for ages and isn’t drying.

I use their Cloud Paint on cheeks, which is great but I don’t like it on lips. I’d like to try Ilia’s multi stick thing.

Delilah has some excellent products - I discovered them via Beauty Bible.

You might like to check out the videos - very helpful. The primer and concealer are brilliant, and even if you think powder isn’t for you, theirs is lovely.

Ahhh - I’ve used this for 20 years, it’s the business

Something I think helps op is a bit of subtle sheen (non glittery) - Laura M discontinued years ago (WHY??) but Elf halo glow is a good one. It helps with the I’ve just had a roll in the hay/a healthful brisk winter walk look which I think is at the heart of no make up make up

Im sampling Estée Lauder Futurist Skin Tint Serum foundation and im loving it

Houseplanter · 04/02/2024 09:31

@suki1964 are there samples available in stores now? I tried to get one before Christmas and they weren't available.

Hoping it'll replace their sheer foundation which I'm not keen on.

Justkoko · 04/02/2024 09:42

Anyone know of videos that use more budget friendly options? Products that aren't so expensive and can be picked up in boots/superdrug? I'm pretty fair (cool/neutral) and liked the look of the halo glow from elf but they all look so warm on swatches!

Girlintheframe · 04/02/2024 09:47

Ah brilliant! So many suggestions, thank you.

I do love the glossier products so may try some of them.

Skincare I would say I've got nailed and my skin is pretty good but I want some products to make me look more out together but in a no make up make up kind of look.

I will spend some time later today looking through all the suggestions. I knew Mumsnet would know what I was looking for Smile

Take a small container JIC. My local counter didnt have any sample sizes but were happy to put some in a wee plastic pot - eye shadow size screw top - sorry I cant post links for some reason

Houseplanter · 04/02/2024 15:56

@suki1964 thankyou so much, I'll do that.

Are you finding much coverage? I don't want their Double Wear but like I said I'm not impressed with their current sheer one

(Sorry, so many questions)

Im not really needing a lot of coverage, just blending the red forehead and cheeks in.

Im 59, have dry skin but sebhorreic dermatitis which tends to be greasy and scaley across the forehead above the eyebrows and on the cheeks around the nose and on the chin. Also now developing wrinkles around the mouth so I really dont want anything that settles - and even double wear does that on me.

With this, seriously, a tiny amount is enough, Im sure this wee sample will last a month or more. Blends really easily. Lasts the day and Im a waitress so running around in the heat all day and doesn't transfer. Gives a bit of a healthy look , but as Im finding out , a good moisturiser is the key to a good foundation

Houseplanter · 04/02/2024 19:00

@suki1964 thank you so much... I'm the same age as you and it sounds like it would be great for me too. I just want something to blur it all together!

Definitely go in and get a sample and give it a try. Im going to wear it a few more times before I commit to buying, going to try it over different moisturisers but Im really impressed so far

RampantIvy · 04/02/2024 20:31

I found my holy grail by going to a shop with make up counters with sales staff who tried differenet colours on me until we found a perfect match.

Dorsetlover · 04/02/2024 20:33

I use Erborian CC cream but you need goid skin to start with as is very light - just creates a blur effect really.

PinkEasterbunny · 05/02/2024 08:48

@Tiz90 you mention the Bobbi Brown corrector, can you use this on its own, or do you use this as a neutralising base under your eyes?
