Comfortable Stiletto Heels - do they exist?

RockGirl · 03/02/2024 21:01

Hi all

I am after the holy grail. Would like some stilettos. I am open to other types of heel but looking for glamour rather than mumsy.

I don't need anything too tall, as I need to be able to walk in them. They need to be comfortable. I am 5'4.

Do they exist? Many years ago I had a pair of heels by a brand called Mustang, they fit the bill.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Do they exist?” No!

Dazedandfrazzled · 04/02/2024 06:48

No. But they are sexy as hell and worth the pain 😁 You can try slightly lower, or use a foot gel pad in them which may help, different styles are more comfortable too like boots. And you do get used to them.

Jimmy Choo romy do a mid heel, and half sizes. Very comfortable. But pricy.

CheesyBeanos · 04/02/2024 07:35

LK Bennett Stila. They don't necessarily look like they would be, but they have a platform, which helps immensely.

beAsensible1 · 04/02/2024 07:35

Yes but they’re more like the Amina muaddi
heels so the heel has a slightly wider base.

life changing honestly, I walked up a cobblestone hill and down no problem in them.

i prefer dupes rather than the real thing as they’re a bit much but each to their own.

blacks are ASOS dupes and green are actual muaddis

Oh anyone think we could try and invent these amazing new comfortable stilettos? We would make a fortune! :)

Thanks everyone for your replies. If you have any suggestions of what you have and would recommend (let's go for sexy rather than comfortable) I'd appreciate it! :)

Thanks I'll have a look, though I'm not sure about the wide base. It's the thin heel that to me makes the stiletto sexy.

LK Bennett definitely worth a try. I had some lovely ones which are now on their last legs. The platform ones are a bit dated though.

Dazedandfrazzled · 05/02/2024 08:28

I truly think the comfortable ones aren't usually sexy. However, mid height is still nice, as much support as possible helps (so a hidden platform, or even just something that isn't too strappy or too pointy), and you need to make sure the arch isn't too high as this is the bit that can burn. Leather so the material stretches. So many factors.

LunaNorth · 05/02/2024 08:31

I used to wear Repettos in my heel-wearing days. Designed for dancing, so lovely soft leather, padded insoles and a slight platform so I didn’t get that burning sensation on the balls of my feet.

Sexy as hell 😀

Dazedandfrazzled · 05/02/2024 08:32

This is a good medium height, and add some insoles

Another vote for LKBennett. They’re well designed.

No, it's the fact that it inhibits your gait and makes your arse wobbly.

HermitCrabby · 05/02/2024 11:57

For me, the key to wearing stilettos happily is to find a pair that are wide enough that you can really spread your toes out. I think this helps distribute the weight. I have a lovely grey suede pair by Schutz that are brilliant, and easy to walk in as long as my feet aren’t cold, when they slop about a bit.

CupOfCoffeeandaPineappleChunk · 05/02/2024 12:04

I'm an LKBennet fan. I go up a size in pointed ones and stick to my size in the rounder toes.

Darklane · 05/02/2024 12:19

Do you think foot size has anything to do with it?
just thinking that perhaps a size 6 foot has a bit more length to go up the slope of the 3” heel shoe than say a size 3 has

you'd think we would have created such a thing wouldn't you? might be because it affects women only, for those who would like some nice looking comfortable heels

windmill26 · 05/02/2024 17:13

Stilettos are never going to be comfortable due to the very thin heel and the height of it. Some high heel shoes can be comfortable . I used to wear high heels all the time when I was a bit younger The best ones I can recommend are the BB by Manolo Blahnik but they are £££.

travelforthesoul · 05/02/2024 17:16

I have a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and they are very comfortable. Worn twice, but sadly, due to spinal issues I can no longer wear them. Absolutely gutted. I take them out their box now and then just to look at them. Should probably sell them on.
