New look returns

I purchased some items from New Look online. Went to create a return and selected the inpost option.

It then wanted my card details to pay the £2.50 return fee. I couldn't be bothered to fill it out so left it for a few days.

Just gone back on there to fill out the card details and it says I've already created a return for them (however I haven't paid for the return or received a return code).

Can I just take the items back in to the shop for a refund instead, or will it show that I've set up a return on the system and won't let me?

Sadly the shop won’t accept online refunds unless you’re dropping it off with them. I didn’t know this and they refused to refund and said it’s now part of their policy for customers to pay for postage.
They only refunded when I pointed out the item I received was faulty.
