and feel bridally, jazz it up with accessories? Or is this too like a clubbing dress? I don’t know where people where things like this anymore.

Aged 46, size 8, vertically challenged, so length would have to be right.

Absolutely this! You will look stunning.
Congratulations!

I second that!

Zone2NorthLondon · 02/02/2024 22:45

Stunning dress
Awaiting the wear a shrug, buy a bolero, get a cardigan advice

Ponderingwindow · 02/02/2024 22:56

I think it is screaming for one of those tiny hats with the tiny beaded veils that just barely covered the face. The style that you might have seen in the 50s or 60s, I’m not sure which.

then to complete the bridal look, a white beaded heel.

Pablova · 02/02/2024 23:29

It’s a beautiful dress.
Ignore all the suggestions it needs a bolero, cardigan, lace, sparkle, bling, a ‘pop’ of colour, all of these suggestions will absolutely ruin its simplicity and elegance.

Carpedimum · 03/02/2024 00:17

Absofuckinglutely 👌🏼

Wibblebits · 03/02/2024 00:21

I would definitely try it on but it's lovely!

Perdita40 · 03/02/2024 08:14

I love this dress. Can you please update with how you are going to style it? X

The model is 5’10” and you say you’re “vertically challenged”, so I expect the dress will look very different on you, and may not fit your proportions at all.

It's a beautiful and elegant dress, but this was my first thought as well.

angsanana · 03/02/2024 08:26

It's beautiful. If your vertically challenged maybe consider keeping the length and having it as a calf length - v elegant.

Catsfrontbum · 03/02/2024 08:36

Half decent dress maker will be able to hem and tuck it to fit for not too much. Buy it. It’s a beaut!!

MissingMoominMamma · 03/02/2024 08:43

Keep it simple- don’t gild the lily! 🤍

CinnamonJellyBeans · 03/02/2024 12:04

A very nice dress. I agree with PP going for the understated look

If you bling it, fluff it, feather it, jazz it or pop it, you will just diminish its elegance.

A pair of white shoes (one for each foot) and white flowers.

noideaoffuturenow · 03/02/2024 12:07

Stunning-love it! Perfectly elegant & sophisticated, don't see why not..

BeaLola · 03/02/2024 12:53

You can get married in anything you like but that dress is just beautiful - simple, elegant, classic - in 20 years it would hold its own in your photos and not have dated

I would keep it simple - when I first saw it I though pop of colour in your shoes

Depends when/where you are marrying but I can see all sorts of flower bouquet options. - I hope if you wear it you post a picture afterwards

sprigatito · 02/02/2024 14:35

It's beautiful, but I do think it's SO simple and minimalist that it will be very unforgiving - it will only look good on someone drop-dead gorgeous with a perfect figure and flawless skin etc. If that's you, go for it!

I agree with this. It's gorgeous, but I know that on my pale, scrawny, short self it is not going to look like anything like it does on the model, I'm fairly confident that it would look hideous. But if you think it's going to suit you then go for it!

Tosh! 🤫

It's suitable for a wedding dress OP try it and see how it goes.
Congrats 🎉

PerfectTravelTote · 03/02/2024 16:53

It's perfect.

Basilandparsleyandmint · 03/02/2024 17:30

Yes!! It’s beautiful and simple.
i got married in something similar many moons ago and was from Debenhams.
I am vertically challenged too and am size 8. I think as it wasn’t fussy and flouncy it actually suited me.
You will look amazing X

ReadyForSeason · 03/02/2024 18:38

Thank you all so much! Have ordered in two sizes - fingers crossed one fits. The wedding colour scheme is white and silver, so have two good footwear options and perhaps pearl earrings. Hair is short Frankie style, so statement earrings and minimalist shoes may be the way to go. Not a shrug person, but may consider a tux style white blazer if need to throw over shoulders. The nerves and Prosecco will probably keep me warm on the day. Thank you again!

You will look fabulous. Have a great day & a fantastic marraige.

Toooldforthisshit49 · 03/02/2024 19:21

Love it 💕

girlwhowearsglasses · 03/02/2024 19:28

Lovely!

I could imagine buying a really fantastic blazer to wear with it would be great because you’d wear the blazer/jacket again. I did this - dress less than £200 - but jacket £500 and I wear it a lot (3 years since wedding). But I wore an colour for my wedding and it’s a colour I wear a lot.

congratulations and I think your short hair and amazing earring will set it off brilliantly
