I will probably by both just in case and hopefully return only one of them.

Which dress you prefer and why?

I bought a similar one in black and white (hetty) from Phase Eight last year. It was so unflattering! The material also felt very cheap for the price.

The hetty dress. Just looks better

Yalta · 01/02/2024 07:16

2 the first one looks a little strange, even on the model.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 01/02/2024 07:22

The first looks like a slightly long top. You'd have to wear leggings or glue your arms to your sides and never walk on stairs or sit down in company.

Freakinfraser · 01/02/2024 07:26

Second one here too, the first looks a bit odd.

GinBlossom94 · 01/02/2024 07:51

I would look again, sorry but they both seem really dated to me

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/02/2024 17:48

I really like that shape/length of Phase Eight dress, but don't really like either of those. The second is better. I have something similar though and was asked (nicely!) if I was deliberately channelling Cruella.

FluffyFanny · 01/02/2024 20:04

Number one makes me think of those cats that pop up on facebook with each half of their face a different colour. Looks weird!

The second one looks like kids wood puzzle blocks.

I prefer the Hetty dress. I think the pattern is more flattering, its more contemporary looking and younger looking.

See, I think just the opposite. I think the Hetty looks really dated and frumpy and very dull, whereas the other one has a slight 1960s mod edge to it which I much prefer and the shorter length makes it look more youthful and relaxed.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 01/02/2024 21:58

They're neither "dated" nor "frumpy".

I don't like either of them. The shape and style is ok, if that shape and style is your thing (it's not mine).

The first one just looks odd. It's a failed experiment- Phase Eight trying to be edgy? The second one is better, and again ok if jumper dresses are your thing. They're not mine as I think , nice , neat little jumper dresses look dull and safe.

Mindlesspuzzles · 01/02/2024 21:59

Hetty, better neckline

This. ^ Very dated, and frumpy.

HardcoreLadyType · 01/02/2024 22:02

I prefer the Hetty dress, but don’t love either.

"dated" and "frumpy" are meaningless.

I don't like either dress. The first dress looks as if Phase Eight stepped out of its comfort zone and failed miserably. The second is OK if nice, neat little jumper dresses are your thing.
