I see where you come from, OP, but our needs and wants may not give you enough ideas as everyone is different. What are her hobbies, what does she like in general? Maybe there are events she'd enjoy attending or something she's like to learn, and you can look into tickets or gift certificate to various classes (dance, art, singing lessons maybe?). If she's into sports, maybe she'd love a new gym bag or a high-end shaker or something like that, etc.

Besides, you can always go from your friendship as a starting point and create a birthday video with her photos or a number collage of them (35-shaped). If there is a whole friend group or you know her family, you can work together. Let's say everyone records themselves saying nice things to/about her and then you make one long video out of these clips (here is a guide on how to join videos if you decide to take this path).

It also very much depends on whether you do birthday gifts, because if you normally don't, taking her out for dinner would be a great thing instead!

£20? £50 £100? £300? £500+?

Confused Grin

What’s your degree of closeness to the recipient? And what does she like?

An experience? e.g. spa day, afternoon tea, theatre trip, yoga studio gift voucher, lovely meal, tickets (concert, comedy or sporting event of choice)

Jewellery?

Flowers?

Homemade treats? cupcakes etc

Ive yet to have a sniff of the “Jo Loves” whats the staying power like? We have agreed on either cake and coffee or lunch and cocktails (we will do both as my birthday is soon also). Shes not really into going to things like that.. said she done it when she was younger … shes going through a phase shes cut/shaved her hair short, tattoos galore..
(ex has entered a relationship when he wouldn’t commit to anything with her) ive got foot mask, face mask, eye mask on order. Been trying to do weekend away or even an overnight spa but her words to me were “im a home bird” which is absolutely fine just cant help feeling that she would enjoy the change of scenery the chance to do literally nothing
