Vitamin C serum

I bought this

Revolution Skincare 20% Vitamin C Radiance Serum
because it had good reviews and not too expensive. However, it seems to be dying my eyebrow orange. Has anyone else had this issue with any vitamin c serum? What am I doing wrong?

I've heard this can happen, the vitamin c essentially bleaches your eyebrow hairs. Which would suggest it's an issue of the formula not delivering the vitamin c properly, or potentially you're overusing it (or the formula has oxidised and is no longer good to use, it should be clear or somewhat yellowed)?

We can only absorb 20% ascorbic acid through the skin per 24 hrs (roughly) the rest will oxidise on top of the skin and can cause orange staining of the skin, almost like fake tan and discolour facial hair. If you've been using it in your am and pm routine, that's too much, just use it in the morning only.

If you're already doing that probably best switch to a better formulation, I rate the Geek & Gorgeous c-glow one which is effective and fairly affordable and maybe consider dyeing your brows?

I swore my first Vit C serum was turning me orange! it was certainly turning my hands orange. However, subsequent tubes have not had the same effect (I've used both Geek & Gorgeous and Revolution and prefer the latter) so I can only assume it was a dud batch.

OP, I think it worth ditching this particular batch and trying again with another. Avoid your eyebrows! Vit C has had good effects on my hyperpigmentation (face and back of hands), used once a day in the morning, before moisturiser and SPF, so while not a skincare devotee, I do think it worth pursuing.

Thanks for the replies @botemp and @BigSkies2022. Very helpful. I don't use that much, forget some days to apply any and only ever a.m.

I will dump and try again.

I use The Ordinary vit c cream under my moisturiser before bed, and so far I don't resemble an Oompah Loompah. 😅

When I wake my skin looks really refreshed too. I'd recommend it.
