Work outfit advice

I have a lot of face to face conferences coming up, where I will meet my management and level colleagues for the first time (my direct team is based across the UK and not based at my office).

so 4 events coming up, about 20 senior people in attendance, all across the UK/will involve travel & held at different events centres. I work in civil service.

I ultimately want to look smart and professional, but I want to wear something I feel confident in? Something with a bit of flair?

I have loads of eg black suits that I’d wear on a day to day but would feel a bit basic in these at an event. Equally I’m in my 20s and don’t want to look too trendy or out of place, as I probably already stand out a bit due to age/height. I’m really short!

For example this outfit caught my eye, with the matching trousers & jacket https://www.asos.com/grp/204911691?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

I think it's a touch too going out in the evening dressy but if you go for it the top needs to be very plain and flat shoes.

And don't roll the sleeves up.

I think the ASOS one looks good. Have you got shoes?

Thanks! No - shoe recommendations are also welcome! Almost feel the need to wear heels

I agree with @IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle about the shoes, top and sleeves. If you take that advice, I don't think it would be too dressy.

What kind of flat shoes? my legs are very short, so tend to look stumpy in long trousers & flat shoes

Also I really like the colour of these suits more, what do you think? Unfortunately they’re all more of a slouchy/oversized fit and I was worried might look too “trendy” vs tailored professional?

This isn't from the petite range so it'll probably be too long on you. I don't think it's evening/dressy. It's definitely work clothes. Heels will be best.

True - I own these trousers from Zara and the end of the trousers pretty much touch any shoes I have on. Does anyone know where I can find trousers that look the same around the waist but shorter in length? https://www.zara.com/uk/en/high-waist-trousers-p09929132.html?v1=324593868&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc
