Quick question - is it weird to wear coated jeans outside the Christmas period?

Per the title, ref black coated jeans, do you think they have too much of a Xmas party with a nice top vibe or do you wear them all year round?

All year round. They're just jeans really.

I had some a few years ago and wore them often between Autumn until Spring. You could wear them with trainers or flat boots to get away from the jeans/nice top look.
