Curl creme recommendations

I’ve got shoulder-length thick/coarse curly hair and looking for a curl creme to apply to wet hair that defines curls without making hair “crispy”. I let my hair dry naturally. Can no longer afford the expensive mail-order only one I’ve used for years so hoping to get a high-street brand. Would appreciate any recommendations 😊

Not a Creme, but I swear by umberto giannini curl jelly. It's the only one with sufficient hold for my hair and you can scrunch out any crispness. It's often on 3 for 2 at Boots, so that's when I stock up.

I love the Boots curl cream and it's 1.99! Worth a try definitely, as I saw loads of recommendations online before trying it.

Umberto Giannini Crème de Curl. It’s cruelty free and it’s £9.

I am absolutely not a crispy curls person. I was using OGX coconut curls curl cream but that seems to have been discontinued. I'm now trying both Pantene Natural Curls styling cream and Aussie Work That Curl leave-in cream. Both giving good, non-crunchy soft results, but I think I prefer the Aussie one slightly just because I prefer the smell (although would prefer non-perfumed if one was ever made).

Tip from me - apply a small dot in the shower to soaking wet hair and comb through - first with comb, then with fingers. Blot and scrunch with a towel when you get out of the shower. Then leave to air-dry. Weirdly I get better results when airdrying outside - e.g. on my walk to the station on my commute.

Definitely boots pink curl cream.

Cantu Curling Creme! Works with curly girl method, and is a little crispy at first but I just crunch it out and my hair goes soft :) I've run out for the first time since starting it and my hair looks so bad without it!

Thanks all - think I may have tried the Boots creme years ago and it was too sticky and heavy for me…have definitely tried the Cantu and gave up on it v quickly as it was just too drying and had the opposite effect to what I’m looking for. I’ll have a look at Umberto Gianni as haven’t tried that brand at all so far. The search for the ideal curly hair products is the work of a lifetime lol 😁
