Any Mulberry experts here?

I found this cute handbag yesterday amongst my late mother's possessions. She was neither the sort to spend a lot on a handbag, nor to buy a copy so I'm surprised either way. How do I know if it is in fact genuine? There isn't a 'tag' with a number. It could be 30 years old, or could be from some tout somewhere like Venice, about 10 years ago..?

I’m not an expert but pre 2000 Mulberry were just a nice ‘country set’ brand with prices to match (not designer level) so I think it’s possible that your Mother may have bought one.

You could contact mulberry. It doesn’t look real to me. Can you see a serial number anywhere?

Thanks for all your responses. I can't see a serial number at all, and I think they have always done that (ie not since prices rocketed around 2000).

I was so surprised to find it and I'd never seen her use it, didn't occur till this morning that it more than likely isn't real, lol.

It's still cute tho, and will always remind me of her..

It could very well be very, very old, although it was quite near the front of the wardrobe which makes me think more likely to be a more recent (fake) purchase.

It's so pretty. I hope you can enjoy wearing it.

Or just keeping it as a memento, of course.

Mulberry don’t authenticate bags. However if you go online the Purse Forum will do so.
