Nice smart watch

...that isn't enormous! Does such a thing exist? It's for my step-mum who is rather petite. She's also 80, into her yoga and loves her iPhone so teaching her about a watch shouldn't be too much.

She'd like to monitor steps, heart rate, maybe sleep, and maybe texts. The fit bit is too basic and I like the thought of a display screen but without too many features that it will confuse her.

Oh, and a nice strap too.

Have you looked at Garmin?
I have a forerunner 245 as I do running and swimming but I’m sure there are more basic models. You can set a watch face using the Garmin Connect app where there are hundreds of options. You can have as much or as little data on the watch face as you like and easily change to different ones.
im sure you can get lots of different straps too.

I have been looking at the Radley ones as they seem slightly more discreet than many and look more like a normal watch. Some smartwatches have a face that is bigger than the top of my wrist! But I'm not sure about functionality of the Radley ones. Watching with interest.

Definitely look at Garmin, you get a lot of features for the money but you dont need to fill up the face with them all. It also is reputedly the best for satlailte tracking

Ive a forerunner 55. Im a walker/hiker so its great for what I need it for. It also records cycling, swimming, etc.

For your mum, id look at the Lily range, petite and packed with features

Thanks both! I'll definitely check these out.

Garmin Lily is good for petite wrists as well

I love my withings - good detail in app but basic on display as looks like an actual watch and doesn't have messages etc.

I got a Garmin Lily after my second Fitbit stopped working after a year of use. Really happy with the Lily otherwise but the battery life is terrible and quite unpredictable. Sometimes I charge it in the evening and by the next morning battery level is down to 80% for no obvious reason.

I find the Garmin/Apple interaction a bit awkward. Your step mum is probably more techy than me though @Badtard !

If she has an iPhone is there a reason why you don’t chose the Apple Watch? I have slim wrists and have the smaller face and a Milanese loop band in gold. If you choose the right watch face it can look quite understated

You have a point. I'll look at these too.

Are all Apple Watches exactly the same size? I'd like something with roughly the same functionality and appearance but a slightly smaller face for my Mum's dinky wrists. Is there such a thing?
