Trousers and Jeans

I have always had trouble finding trousers and jeans to fit. I am petite, size 10 but have big thighs and a bit of a tummy. I only wear jeggings, leggings and dresses because this is what suits me but I would like something else for work. This morning I tried on 10 pairs of wide leg trousers. They all clung to my thighs and drowned me. I tried straight leg jeans but again my thighs looked huge. Stetchy fabric seems to be best for me but my legs are quite short so wide or flared styles seem to overpower me. Does anyone with similar problems have any recommendations? Thanks

Fellow petite here, I carry weight on thighs and tummy too. M & S straight leg trousers are good, I particularly like their cords. White Stuff and Fat Face do shorter and petite length wide leg trousers, and these don't swamp me. Currently loving my Fat Face wide leg jeans (high waisted so everything gets pulled in 😄) Seasalt may be worth a try too.

Brax Carola are very good for that shape.

Yes tricky for petites with think thighs as the trouser will hang from the widest point and make everything look that wide. It can work I find with more balloon or jogger shaped trousers with a more fitted top. You need to show smallness somewhere. Imagine a rectangle. If you are short and wide you start to look more like a square. Sometimes wide trousers slightly cropped with sock ankle boots can work but it's very tricky to pull off. Man style trousers with pleats can sometimes work. But more tapered than wide.
