Perfume help

Hi folks am after some suggestions if you would be so kind.

I don't really wear perfume because it can irritate my asthma but I get married this year and want something lovely.

I love Armani Code & She. Can anyone suggest similar scents I might like?

I tried to speak to a lady in John Lewis today who asked what I liked/didn't like and then suggested all ones with scents I said I didn't like so it wasn't a particularly successful trip!!

The only one I found I quite liked was Alien (in a purple bottle) but my other half isn't sure he likes it.

Welcome all suggestions!!

If you like Alien, it's very jasmine-heavy so you will probably enjoy other jasmine forward fragrances. Armani Code and She also have jasmine, so it's a note that seems to appeal to you. Alien is very powerful stuff, so beware of that one!

Others: Dior J'Adore, Elie Saab Le Parfum, Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. There are many.

On the Fragrantica website you can search perfumes by notes.

Thanks @DramaAlpaca will have a look at those next time I am near some shops.

It took the lady a good 10 mins before she even sniffed the code to check what I currently wear and even then she was bringing out sickly ones. I don't think she was impressed when I said the Jimmy Choo one smelt really acidic, almost like hairspray!

She was always my go to for about 20 years but stopped lasting on my skin , I love Code too and have a perfume parlour dupe of it. I've searched for years for a new scent and found Chloe Nomade and Lancome La Vie est Belle last year. The Lancome one has become my new favourite.

I wear Alien and I think it's Jasmine and Neroli.

I also wear Gucci Flora the Jasmine one and also a cheap option is an M&S own brand warm Neroli.

Try Libre intense. Not sure if it has Jasmine in.

Hypnotic Poison is fabulous but very almond-heavy. Definitely needs to be tried first as it's quite an emphatic sort of scent.

What's it like in comparison to the original poison? I'm not a massive fan of the scent when it is on me.

I'm not sure what it is with my skin but things smell lovely on others and when you get the card tester, but on me they smell vile, at least to me.

I'm not sure if related but I can turn cheap metal black in a matter of hours of I wear costu e jewellery

@Onceuponaheartache I don't think I have ever smelt the original! HP is definitely very sweet and food-like, but with a slightly spicy undertone. Some people get a slight playdough vibe from it, but I don't. It's quite full-on sexy. Not a day or summer scent, in my view.
