Good quality lace-up boots

Hi all, I've been burnt by the recent experience of buying boots that seemed comfortable but ultimately so ill-fitting that they crippled my feet. So I am after some really good quality lace-up boots (black, or maybe oxblood/burgundy). I've seen Lanx recommended on this board. I quite like the look of these https://lanxshoes.com/products/dinckley-oxblood?_pos=10&_fid=ec18f3b51&_ss=c%3Fvariant%3D44184279580910&variant=44184279580910

or these from Bobbies:
Are there any others you'd recommend that would be under £200, maybe on sale right now. Key requirements, leather, stitched sole (preferable), good quality, long-lasting.

DINCKLEY / OXBLOOD

The Dinckley Oxblood are high grade genuine leather boots and are part of our women's 1992 range. These burgundy derby boots are built on our LX-Y last and made with a cemented construction.

The Lanx ones. They're lovely. Much loved brand on here.

Celtic and Co.

www.celticandco.com/womens/footwear/leather-boots/woodsman-boots?colourid=64. I have these in blue. Amazingly comfortable.

Have you looked at Grenson? I have some Nanette's I got in the sale and they're so comfortable, very lightweight too.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 21/01/2024 20:33

I have Lanx Chipping. They're a bit daintier than the Dinckleys. Very comfortable from day one and hard wearing.

I also have 2 pairs of Joseph Cheaney Anna boots, very comfortable too but bit more expensive.

Grenson Ellas are beautiful but also over £300.

I have these from Celtic & Co. They actually have a zip at the side, but look like lace ups. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned!

Blackstone. I've recently bought a black lace up pair that have been much admired out and about. It's my 3rd pair of their shoes. Very comfy, excellent quality. The first were a pair of more biker style boots, equally admired and indestructible. I think I've had those 10 years at least and I've only just replaced the soles, despite wearing them daily some winters.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 21/01/2024 21:02

Solovair. I bought these last winter when my physio told me to stop wearing my elastic side Chelsea boots.

These

I love them!! They were comfortable from the beginning and have become more and more so. They come in a few colours, but the black/burgundy rub off seems to go with everything.

Sports Direct only £28. Very. Comfortable

Thanks all! Out of all the suggestions so far I still like Lanx, Solovair and Joseph Cheaney Annas. While I definitely want something comfortable, I want them to be stylish too, so the rest don't pass the style test for me I am afraid.

Much prefer Lanx to Grenson.

Definitely more comfortable. Also, more comfy then Solovair.

Have all three. Love boots.

Lanx Chipping are brogues though, which I am not too keen on. I quite like the smooth leather

I recenty saw a woman wearing such a cute pair of lace ups I had to ask where they were from, and got myself the same pair. Super comfirtable. Panama Jack.

liveforsummer · 21/01/2024 21:41

My sorel lennox lace have not been off my feet for the last 3 years barring the occasional heatwave. They still look good as new despite me never polishing them once and I am on my feet all day long. Super comfy. No stitched sole but fit the rest of the requirements

liveforsummer · 21/01/2024 21:42

Forgot to add pic of said sorel boots. Easy to dress up or down

I have a pair of Lanx boots (not sure of the style name) and I love them. They took a couple of wears to properly break in, but are now very comfortable, and I feel invincible in them!

RosesAndHellebores · 21/01/2024 22:02

No suggestions @Howmanyroses. I bought something similar from Gabor about three/four years ago. Soon comfy.

Separately, I highly recommend Bobbies shoes and boots. They are beautifully made and slightly different than the High Street.

Thanks, I am really tempted especially as they are on sale. They just look so chic!
